Texas receiver Agiye Hall was suspended indefinitely Friday by coach Steve Sarkisian in the wake of the player's arrest on a criminal mischief charge. According to Travis County records, Hall was arrested just after 9 p.m. Thursday by UT police and charged with a Class B misdemeanor. The police report obtained by the American-Statesman said Hall did $600 worth of damage to a "vehicle boot." Class B misdemeanor charges result from damage totaling $100 to $750 in value. An attorney representing Hall declined to comment. "We're aware of the situation involving Agiye Hall, have talked with his family, and have suspended him indefinitely from all team activities for conduct that is detrimental to our program," Sarkisian said in a statement issued Friday. Hall transferred to Texas from Alabama this spring in search of a fresh start. Alabama coach Nick Saban suspended Hall in April for an undisclosed violation of team rules. - Austin American Statesman

A former Alabama receiver's first year at a new school is off to a rough start. Agiye Hall, now at Texas, was arrested Thursday in Austin on charges of criminal mischief valued between $100 and $750, according to public booking information. It is a misdemeanor charge. Hall left Alabama after one season that started strong in the A-Day game but didn't translate to much playing time in the fall. He caught passes for 72 yards with his most significant playing time coming in the national title game. The injuries to Jameson Williams and John Metchie helped thrust Hall into the loss to Georgia in Indianapolis. Hall had a pair of catches for 52 yards against the Bulldogs after recording one catch each against Miami and New Mexico State.

Hall publicly questioned his playing time on Twitter, a move that didn't help the situation. "Well, it is what it is. You know, look, it still comes down to players creating value for themselves by what they do," Saban said Oct. 18 when asked about that public frustration. "I've said this before, that there's players that have talent but they have to learn how to use it, and they have to use it in an effective way in the way they practice. It's up to the player to impress the coaches that they can be trusted to go in the game and do what they're supposed to do. "So when players get frustrated, they sometimes don't respond the way they should in terms of their preparation and focusing on what they need to do to become a good player, because they're so concerned about how much they're playing." Then in the spring, Saban announced Hall was suspended indefinitely. He entered the transfer portal April 7 and announced he was headed to Texas on April 19. - Birmingham News

Over the past 24 hours, rumors and reports have been rampant about the status of Texas transfer Agiye Hall. Social media ignited a firestorm Tuesday after speculation about the receiver not being on the Longhorns' online roster. In addition, all mentions of Texas on Hall's social media platforms appeared to be scrubbed. The speculation isn't entirely without precedent. Last month, Hall's name was removed from Alabama's roster. He took to Twitter to let people know it was news to him. The next day Nick Saban announced Hall was no longer a member of the team. Hall reacted by entering the transfer portal.

Fast forward a month. His name isn't on the Texas roster. On Wednesday, the Texas coach addressed the situation. Sarkisian, who was at the Texas Fight Tour stop in Houston, told those in attendance, per Jeff Howe of 247 Sports, that Hall has signed a financial aid agreement with Texas. It is reported the agreement binds the school to the player, but not the player to the school. "We feel good about that," he said, per 247Sports. - Birmingham News

Agiye Hall is feeling the love at Texas. The former Alabama wide receiver, who transferred to Steve Sarkisian's Longhorns program, pointed that out in a recent interview. While doing so, he took the opportunity to make it known he couldn't say the same about Tuscaloosa. "One thing that really stood out is the culture. Bama fans - they're not really loving, if I could say - even when you leave," Hall told Horns247. "Texas fans are like a family. They love you unconditionally. They want the best for you and want to make sure you're striving to be the best person you are, whether it's people in the stands, players or coaches. They're all connected, which is a good thing."

Plus, he said one of the best things about Alabama football also resides in Austin. "Really, I loved Bama's playbook," Hall said. "And it's Sark's playbook. So, I gotta stick with my boy Sark. What I was doing at Bama that wasn't seen is going to be seen this year." Hall never really found his stride in Tuscaloosa. Last month, Alabama coach Nick Saban announced that Hall had been suspended for violating "some team rules. Whether they're academic or whatever, it doesn't really matter." That came after it was revealed his name was no longer on the roster. Hall tweeted he that it was news to him. Still, a day after Saban's announcement, Hall entered the NCAA transfer portal. - Birmingham News

Former Alabama football receiver Agiye Hall announced he is transferring to Texas. He put out the news Tuesday on his Twitter account. Hall is the second player this offseason to reunite former Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian, how head coach of the Longhorns. Hall joins tight end Jahleel Billingsley, who also transferred to Texas. Former Alabama linebacker Ben Davis transferred to Texas last offseason. Hall posted photos of himself in Texas gear along with the caption, "it's an new sheriff in town #hookem." A graphic said Hall is "committed." The fifth-ranked receiver in the class of 2021 as a four-star recruit per 247Sports.com, Hall announced his intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal on April 7 following reports of his name being removed from the official Alabama football roster two days prior. On April 6, Alabama coach Nick Saban addressed Hall's situation. "He is suspended from the team for violations of some team rules, whether they're academic or whatever, it doesn't really matter," Saban said. "Everybody has a responsibility and an obligation to respect the principles and values and do what they need to do. They're all there to help them be more successful. To respect those and do those is always really helpful." - Montgomery Advertiser

Former Alabama receiver Agiye Hall "loved" his official visit to Texas over the weekend, his father told 247 Sports. In fact, Vincent Hall said the Longhorns should've been the destination from the start. "I just wish COVID never happened, so we could've went there in the beginning," Vincent Hall said. "It may have turned out different in my eyes." There are familiar faces in Austin, too. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, assistant coach Jeff Banks and former Alabama receiver Jahleel Billingsley all crossed paths with Hall in Tuscaloosa. "On the field I think he'd fit in well," Vincent Hall said. "A lot of the players they all have the same personalities, outgoing just being teenagers enjoying themselves and being able to experience things outside of football. That's something he definitely enjoyed, being there with the players." According to the report, the receiver does not have any other visits planned. Earlier this month, Alabama coach Nick Saban announced Agiye Hall's suspension from the team. A day later, he entered the transfer portal. - Birmingham News
