  2022 ALL-AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM: LB Justin Wright, Tulsa, Sr.,...Wright led the Hurricane in tackles with 101 and tackles for lost yardage at 10.5 for -25 yards, while tying for most interceptions with two. He ranked sixth in The American for tackles and seventh for tackles for lost yards. Wright had four double-figure tackle games with a season-high of 13 stops three times, while also leading Tulsa in tackles in four games. The 6'2" linebacker from Abilene, Texas, completed his career with 253 tackles, 27 TFL for -84 yards, four interceptions and four fumble recoveries. He was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week after a 13-tackle, 2.5 TFL, one forced fumble and one pass breakup at Memphis. - Tulsa Football

Wright added a sack, 2.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry as the Golden Hurricane kept the Tigers out of the end zone for the final 44:04.   2021 ALL-AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): LB Justin Wright, Tulsa,...Wright, a two-time AAC Defensive Player of the Week this season, led Tulsa with 77 tackles to rank ninth in The American despite missing the season opener. The 6'2" linebacker also recorded 5.5 TFL for -20 yards and 3.5 sacks for -16 yards. He had his first career interception, a 55-yard return for a touchdown against Oklahoma State, while adding one breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery on the season. Wright, from Abilene, Texas, was the Defensive Player of the Week after his performances against South Florida and Tulane. He totaled seven tackles and 2.5 sacks for -8 yards at USF and tallied 12 stops, including 10 solos and one TFL for -3 yards at Tulane. Wright finished with a game-high 12 tackles, including 10 solo stops and a tackle for loss, and had a key tackle on Tulane's overtime series as Tulsa forced the Green Wave to a three-and-out to win the game.
