Jakobi Buchanan ran for three touchdowns and Christian Anderson threw for a score and Army beat Liberty 31-16 on Saturday. After Liberty turned it over on downs in five plays to start the game, Cole Talley kicked a 26-yard field goal to give Army (8-3) a 3-0 lead. The Black Knights followed up defensively when Bo Nicolas-Paul intercepted Max Morgan. On Army's ensuing drive, Anderson threw a 34-yard scoring pass to Braheam Murphy for a 10-0 advantage just before the end of the first quarter.

The Flames continued turning it over on downs doing so on their next two possessions which resulted in Buchanan scoring runs of 19 and 1 yards for a 24-0 lead. His 7-yard scoring run came with 6:45 left in the third for a 31-3 lead. Malik Willis threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Noah Frith for Liberty's first touchdown of the day with 4:35 left in the third, and then Willis ran it in from seven yards seconds before the third ended to cut the deficit to 31-16.   Jakobi Buchanan scored on a 1-yard run with 73 seconds left, and Army rallied past Air Force 10-7 on Saturday to win the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy for the ninth time. With time winding in the fourth quarter, Army drove 80 yards to the Air Force 1 and Buchanan delivered. Arik Smith's interception on a deflected pass sealed it for the Black Knights. Quinn Maretzki kicked a 24-yard field goal early in the second quarter for Army's other points.

The Falcons beat Army 17-13 at home last year, stopping the Black Knights on fourth down at the goal line to escape. Haaziq Daniels found Kyle Patterson for a 10-yard touchdown in the final seconds of the third quarter to give Air Force a 7-3 lead. The Falcons (3-3) began the season with a dominant 40-7 win over Navy and were poised to capture their record 21st CIC. But after falling behind, Army's Jabari Moore stopped the Falcons' attempt to seal it with an interception at the goal line to set up the winning drive for the Black Knights, who have won nine straight at home. - AP College Football

Sophomore fullback Jakobi Buchanan has been deemed "the human wrecking ball," but the big man showed patience and solid foot skills on his long touchdown runs of 25 and 40 yards on Saturday. In both cases, Buchanan was briefly held up at the line of scrimmage before finding his way through holes for his big runs. "We just practice, practice and practice," Buchanan said. "Sometimes the hole is not going to be there right away. But just the way the line moves and...the blocks come together, you know, the hole is eventually going to be there...You just have to wait for the hole." - Times Herald-Record
