  09/12/20 - SS Travis JayrSr/2025, Colorado, 6-2, 205 (DS#999 SS) + More +

This weekend has been a long time coming for Florida State safety Travis Jay. Jay, a redshirt freshman, came to FSU with high expectations. Hailing from just down the road in Madison, Jay grew up in the heart of Seminole country. He signed with FSU as a one of the highest ranked players in the 2019 recruiting class but was forced to watch from the sidelines his freshman year due to an academic issue. After waiting for so long it's finally time for Jay to don the garnet and gold and take the field Saturday at 3:30 p.m. against Georgia Tech at Doak Campbell Stadium. "I'm excited to see him play a game," FSU coach Mike Norvell said. "He's a very natural athlete, a lot of different things that he can do, with and without the ball in his hands which is obviously why you're seeing him lined up in returner roles." Jay is listed as a co-starter at both the free safety (sophomore Renardo Green) and the buck safety (junior Jaiden Lars-Woodbey) position in defensive coordinator Adam Fuller's defense. - Times Union
