  2022 PHIL STEELE PRESEASON ALL-INDEPENDENT FIRST TEAM: P Ryan Rehkow, BYU,...Rehkow, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound sophomore from Veradale, Washington finished the 2021 season ranked No. 5 in the nation, with a punting average of 48.58, the highest average by any freshman in the nation. Rehkow was a Ray’s 8 honoree in week five of the season and placed on the Ray Guy 2021 watch list following his performance at Utah State on Oct. 1. In 2021, Rehkow played in all 13 games for No. 19 ranked BYU as punter and field goals/PATs holder. He placed 16 of 40 punts inside the 20-yard line and set a new BYU record with an 83-yard punt in a win over then No. 19 ASU. - BYU Football

  2022 PRESEASON RAY GUY WATCHLIST: Ryan Rehkow - BYU,...Rehkow (6-6, 232) thought his sport was basketball, or maybe soccer until his older brother, Austin, tried kicking and punting in high school and earned a scholarship to Idaho. So Rehkow heads into his third season at BYU with a 47.16-yard average on 68 punts with a school record 83-yarder, 32 inside the 20 with 27 fair catches and only seven touchbacks. At Central Valley High School in Veradale, WA, Rehkow hit field goals of 57 and 52 yards in 2015 and also played basketball and soccer. Served as missionary in London, England before joining BYU team in 2020. - BYU Football
