  12/27/23 - DT Ty RobinsonrSr/2025, Nebraska, 6-6, 310 (DS#20 DT) + More +

2023 ALL-BIG TEN HONORABLE MENTION: Ty Robinson,...Robinson finished the year with 29 tackles, including four tackles for loss. He was disruptive at the line of scrimmage with six pass breakups and a team-high 11 quarterback hurries along with a blocked field goal against Iowa. - Nebraska Football

  07/24/21 - DT Ty RobinsonrSr/2025, Nebraska, 6-6, 310 (DS#20 DT) + More +

At 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, Robinson has come a long way in filling out his massive frame. That, combined with two years now of learning under defensive line coach Tony Tuioti, leads many to believe that he can be a disruptive force up front for the Blackshirts. He won't be counted on to do it alone, considering Nebraska returns virtually all of its production up front and is getting one more year from the group's leader, super senior Ben Stille. Robinson, Stille, Casey Rogers and Deontre Thomas form the nucleus of defensive ends, though defensive coordinator Erik Chinander also has the option of kicking any of those players inside and using his outside linebackers more like ends, too.

"What we have to prove is that we're still a dominant defense," Robinson said this spring. "I feel like this year in the Big Ten we've set our goals up pretty high for what we want. But I feel like this next season, and what we've seen so far, that we're going to be a pretty dominant defense in the Big Ten. So that's what we've got to prove; we've got to show everyone that we're different from last year." One way or another, Nebraska taking the next step on defense is going to include Robinson being on the field a lot. He can play on the end or hold the fort in the middle. The next step is about causing more havoc. Robinson finished with 17 tackles (two for loss) and no sacks last fall. If he can push the pocket and disrupt the quarterback regularly, No. 99 could be in for a big jump. - Lincoln Journal Star

  05/10/21 - DT Ty RobinsonrSr/2025, Nebraska, 6-6, 310 (DS#20 DT) + More +

It was expected to be a deep group in 2021 and spring ball reinforced that. Defensive line coach Tony Tuioti said he has at least six players he can trust and potentially seven in Ben Stille, Ty Robinson, Casey Rogers, Damion Daniels, Jordon Riley, Deontre Thomas and walk-on Colton Feist. Stille is the unquestioned leader of the group, but Robinson appears to be next in line. The 6-foot-6, 315-pounder got a ton of snaps in 2020 and is poised to be one of the best players on the defense as soon as this fall. If he starts generating a consistent pass rush this year, he will be a problem for many Big Ten offensive lines. - Lincoln Journal Star

At 6 feet, 6 inches tall and 310 pounds, Ty Robinson is an imposing figure even before he puts on his pads. Unless you're a little kid. "One day I just found out that kids really like me for some reason, I don't know why," Robinson said. "They all seem to just call me a big teddy bear, I guess. A big jungle gym. They climb all over me." That's a good problem to have for Nebraska's redshirt freshman defensive lineman, who has plans to be a pediatric doctor after his football playing days are over. As a pre-health major at Nebraska, Robinson has a pretty large workload in front of him.

He's already gotten a taste of it, too, having taken 18 credit hours in the fall when it was unclear just what Nebraska's season was going to look like. "Not a good idea," Robinson cracked. "I highly don't recommend that." But Robinson, who wants to move on to UNMC in Omaha after he's done in Lincoln, found his way through during a season in which he started seven games and flashed the potential that made him one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2019 class. "You learn to balance it out. There really is no time off, is what I've realized, but you find time off. You find time to take a little break," Robinson said. "But...my days are pretty full. I'm usually not going to bed until around 11, midnight from schoolwork, practice, film." - Lincoln Journal Star
