Titus Swen ran for 180 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries and D.Q. James added 10 carries for 120 yards to help Wyoming beat Utah State 28-14 Saturday night. Swen scored on a 30-yard run with 5:02 left in the first quarter and his 5-yard scoring run with 8:01 to go in the first half made it 14-0. Utah State (3-4, 2-1 Mountain West) trimmed its deficit to 17-13 when Calvin Tyler Jr. capped seven-play, 62-yard drive with a 31-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter but John Hoyland - who made a 43-yard field goal as time expired in the first half - kicked a 51-yard field goal about 4 minutes later and Swen capped the scoring with a 6-yard TD run with 4:11 to play. Bishop Davenport completed 17 of 26 passes for 104 yards with an interception and added a 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter for the Aggies. Wyoming finished with 529 total yards - including 330 yards rushing on 50 carries - while limiting Utah State to 217. - Wyoming/AP College Football

Titus Swen ran for 102 yards and a late fourth-quarter touchdown to give Wyoming a 17-14 victory over Air Force in a Mountain West Conference opener on Friday night. Swen pushed three defenders into the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown that capped an eight-play, 75-yard drive for Wyoming (3-1, 1-0) with 6:06 remaining. The Cowboys then forced a three-and-out before running out the clock. Air Force (2-1, 0-1), which entered leading the nation averaging 508.5 yards rushing, was held to 171 yards on the ground. John Lee Eldridge III carried 13 times for 104 yards.

Andrew Peasley had 162 yards passing for the Cowboys. He tossed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Treyton Welch, who made a two-handed, over-the-shoulder catch while falling across the goal line in the second quarter. Haaziq Daniels threw a pair of touchdown passes for Air Force. Daniels lofted a pass from near the midfield logo to Cade Harris in the end zone that gave the Falcons a 14-10 lead with about 10 minutes left. Daniels connected with David Cormier inside the 10 midway through the third. Air Force had won two straight in the series, each at home, but has lost four straight in Laramie dating to 2012. - Wyoming/AP College Football

  09/10/22 - RB Titus SwenrJr/2023, Wyoming, 5-09, 204 (DS#33 RB) + More +

Titus Swen ran for three touchdowns, John Hoyland kicked four field goals and Wyoming pulled away from Northern Colorado 33-10 on Saturday. Three of Hoyland's field goals came in the first half for a 9-0 lead and the Cowboys (2-1) led throughout. Wyoming was up 16-3 after Swen capped a 75-yard drive with a 6-yard run late in the third quarter. The FCS Bears (0-2) got back into the game after Wyoming punter Clayton Stewart dropped a snap and Northern Colorado took over at the Cowboys 9. A defensive holding call kept the drive alive before the Bears scored on a "Philly Special" with quarterback Jacob Sirmon catching a TD pass from Trevis Graham to close within 16-10 early in the fourth.

But Hoyland's fourth field goal made it 19-10 and after the Bears had a fourth-down play result in a sack, Swen went 22 yards on the next play for a 16-point lead. Another Swen touchdown followed after an interception return to the Bears 3. Wyoming held Northern Colorado to 15 yards rushing. Dylan McCaffrey, son of head coach Ed McCaffrey, started at quarterback for the Bears but Sirmon took over midway through the second quarter. This was the first meeting since 2013 for the schools that are 100 miles apart. - Wyoming/AP College Football

  09/25/21 - RB Titus SwenrJr/2023, Wyoming, 5-09, 204 (DS#33 RB) + More +

Titus Swen scored on a late two-yard run and Wyoming survived a drama-packed final 3:34 to eke out a 24-22 win over UConn, capping a nearly 2,000-mile road trip on Saturday to remain undefeated. The Cowboys (4-0) had trailed by as many as 13 points before rallying into a 24-16 lead with back-to-back fourth-quarter touchdowns from Xazavian Valladay and Swen. But UConn (0-5) wasn't done, driving 64 yards in 15 plays over the final 3:30 before Nate Carter scored from the 2 with four seconds left. The TD came one play after a pass interference call on Wyoming gave UConn a fresh set of downs at the 2. UConn's two-point conversion pass by Tyler Phommachanh failed and Wyoming fell on top of the ensuing onside kick to end the game with Sean Chambers taking a knee. Chambers threw for 149 yards and a touchdown, but was also intercepted twice. Valladay carried 22 times for 101 yards, Swen gained 84. Phommachanh was 19-of-40 passing for 171 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Carter carried 10 times for 65 yards. - Wyoming/AP College Football

  05/09/21 - RB Titus SwenrJr/2023, Wyoming, 5-09, 204 (DS#33 RB) + More +

October of 2019. That's the last time Titus Swen had played in a football game. It was hard to tell Saturday. Wyoming's sophomore running back reminded his coaches, teammates and fans during the Cowboys' spring game exactly what he's capable of with the ball in his hands, showing little rust from his lengthy layoff. With UW's top two running backs, Xazavian Valladay and Trey Smith, getting a limited workload (they combined for just 10 carries), it meant a larger one for Swen, though he didn't need much of a sample size to impress. Swen got six carries and caught one pass as the Brown team's primary back. His final tally? 155 all-purpose yards. Or 22.1 yards per touch. That included a 55-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter, but Swen started dazzling much earlier than that. The 5-foot-11, 202-pounder turned in the game's longest play from scrimmage during the first half when he helped his quarterback, Sean Chambers, make something out of nothing on a screen pass. - Casper Star-Tribune
