  2021 ALL-GULF SOUTH CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM WR & KR (COACHES): WR Brian Saunds, Valdosta State,...Graduate student wide receiver Brian Saunds was named first team all-conference as a wide receiver and return specialist. Saunds earned first team all-conference honors in 2019 as a return specialist and second team all-conference honors as a wide receiver in 2018. This season, he has played and started all ten games, leading the team with 54 catches for 855 yards and four touchdowns. He is averaging 16.1 yards per reception and 85.5 yards per game. Saunds is fourth in the GSC in all-purpose yards at 100.00 per game, while he leads the GSC in receiving yards (855) for 31st nationally. Saunds' 85.5 yards per game is good for second in the GSC and 30th nationally. He has 18 punt returns for 115 yards for a 6.4 average per return for 45th nationally and fourth in the league. - Valdosta State Football

Saunds was a second team all-league selection in 2018 as a wide receiver. This year, Saunds is third in the league in all-purpose yards at 100.1, while he is first in the league in receiving yards at 867 for 36thnationally. Saunds is 25th nationally and first in the GSC in receiving yards per game at 86.7. He is first in the league and 51st nationally in receptions per game at 5.0. This season Saunds set the school-record for reception yards in a game with 246 on 10 receptions against Florida Tech. It marked the third-most receiving yards in a game in Division II to that point this season on Oct. 19.
