The Miami Hurricanes, coming off their worst passing performance of the season, could be without their leading receiver Saturday when they host the Pittsburgh Panthers at Hard Rock Stadium. Brevin Jordan's status remains questionable Wednesday, Manny Diaz said, as No. 13 Miami prepares for Pittsburgh. "The only guy that'd be questionable is Brevin," the coach said. "I think everybody else has been practicing and has been good to go, so we'll see as the week goes on about Brevin, but everybody else has been out there running around, looking good." This means offensive lineman John Campbell Jr., who started at left tackle Saturday against the Clemson Tigers, should be good to go after exiting the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent right knee injury. Jordan's potential absence would be painful for the Hurricanes. The star tight end leads Miami (3-1, 2-1 Atlantic Coast) with 18 catches for 243 yards and three touchdown this season. He was the Hurricanes' leading receiver in their 42-17 loss to No. 1 Clemson before he exited with an apparent right shoulder injury in the third quarter. - Miami Herald

Field said that Brevin Jordan, who also spoke Friday and has returned to practice after missing the last four games of the season with a foot injury, looks "really, really good." Jordan, one of three 2019 Mackey Award finalists, was his usual upbeat self and said he was excited about the new offense. "They use us in a way that we're all over the field,'' said Jordan, who despite the injury, finished the season with 495 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 35 catches.. "We're outside, we're in the slot, we're in the backfield, we're lined up on the line. We're adjusters, that's our position. Coach Lashlee loves to throw the ball to us. He loves to just get the ball to guys in space and let them go to work. That's what's so great about his offense." Will Mallory, also on the videoconference, agreed the new offense "really opens up and uses the athletes we have on this team." "I consider our tight end room extremely athletic, and it really opens up for us to make plays, run around and be the athletes that we are. "It will showcase what we do at a high level and high pace." - Miami Herald

Jarren Williams passed for 250 yards and a touchdown, DeeJay Dallas ran for another score and Miami got past Central Michigan 17-12 on Saturday. Brevin Jordan caught three passes for 70 yards for the Hurricanes (2-2), who went 85 yards relatively easily for a touchdown on their first drive and then managed a total of only 117 yards and seven points on their next nine possessions. K.J. Osborn had a touchdown catch in the third quarter for Miami.

Ryan Tice kicked a career-long 55-yard field goal for Central Michigan (2-2), in former Florida coach Jim McElwain's return to the Sunshine State. His team was a 30-point underdog, and got within five on quarterback David Moore's 1-yard rush with 3:21 left. The Chippewas elected to kick the ball deep after that score and wound up getting the ball back - but on their own 5 with only 39 seconds left after a 59-yard punt by Louis Hedley. Al Blades Jr. sealed the win for Miami by intercepting a pass from Moore with six seconds left. Moore finished 23 of 50 for 217 yards. Williams completed 17 of 24 passes for Miami. It was a day filled with Miami mistakes, including allowing four sacks, committing 13 penalties, allowing a safety, dropping an interception and getting a punt blocked. - Miami/AP College Football
