Nelson Mbanasor, Texas State, Player News

Nelson Mbanasor had put himself into position to play a more prominent role on the Texas Tech football team this season, but his progress is on hold for the rest of 2020. A Tech spokesman confirmed Monday that the junior defensive end had suffered a season-ending injury, though he did not know any further details. In early September, defensive line coach Paul Randolph said without hesitation that Mbanasor had the best preseason camp of any player in his position room. Randolph said Mbanasor's level of play was "off the charts" in August as he put into practice points for improvement the two talked about after last season. "He took everything I said to heart," Randolph said, "and went to work immediately on it and just made a conscious decision, I think, to, "Hey, I'm going to get better in all these things that coach told me to work on." - Lubbock Avalanche Journal
