  OCT 24 MISSOURI VALLEY CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RB Dom Williams, UNI, 5-10, 200, R-Sr., McKinney, Texas (Independence HS),...Williams notched a record-breaking performance for UNI against Missouri State tying the program's single game record with four rushing touchdowns. Williams is the tenth player in UNI history to run for four touchdowns, and first since Aaron Bailey to do so in 2015, also against Missouri State. Aided by dominant offensive line play, Williams notched his second game of 100+ rushing yards this season and fourth of his career.   Dom Williams ran for 101 yards and a career-high four touchdowns on 17 carries to help Northern Iowa beat Missouri State 41-20 Saturday night. Williams scored on a 9-yard run less than a minute into the game and his 1-yard touchdown gave Northern Iowa (4-4, 3-2 Missouri Valley) a 14-0 lead with 6:40 left in the first quarter. Williams added a 2-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter and his 10-yard scoring run on the first play of the fourth quarter made it 38-14. Jason Shelley completed 16 of 22 passes for 151 yards with a touchdown and an interceptions for Missouri State (2-5, 0-4). Jacardia Wright scored on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter.   Don Williams ran for 166 yards, including a 99-yard run for a second-quarter touchdown, and Northern Iowa used its defense to dominate Western Illinois, 41-3 Saturday in the season finale for both schools. The Panthers denied Western Michigan any kind of a running game, holding the Leathernecks to minus-46 yards on the ground. Northern Iowa set a school record with 12 sacks and picked off three passes, including a 46-yard pick-six by Austin Evans in the third quarter. After trading field goals Northern Iowa broke the game open when Williams found a seam up the middle and raced 99 yards for the score, the longest run for a touchdown by a Panthers since Arnold Paulsen ran 98 yards against Augustana in 1951, Terrance Kamara carried 11 times for 40 yards and a touchdown for Northern Iowa (6-5, 4-4 Missouri Valley). Theo Day completed 14 of 23 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown to Sam Schnee. Connor Sampson was 29 of 39 for 163 yards for Western Illinois (2-9, 2-6). - AP College Football

  Dom Williams rushed for a career-high 119 yards with a touchdown, Theo Day passed for a pair of touchdowns and Northern Iowa's defense didn't allow a point until the final 2:32 as the Panthers defeated Youngstown State 34-7 on Saturday. Williams had 11 carries and scored on a career-long 58-yard run, blowing through a big hole on the left side and sprinting untouched to the end zone. It was the longest run from scrimmage this season for Northern Iowa (3-1, 1-0 Missouri Valley Football Conference).

Day completed 11 of 16 passes for 188 yards with a 50-yard touchdown strike to Vance McShane and a 23-yarder to Isaiah Weston. The Panthers, ranked No. 13 in the FCS coaches poll, piled up 200 yards on the ground while holding the Penguins (1-3, 0-2) to 52. The game was less lopsided in total yards - 388-251 - thanks to Demeatric Crenshaw going 25-for-37 passing for 198. Crenshaw threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Jorge Portorreal late to break the shutout. He was intercepted twice. - AP College Football

  Matthew Cook kicked four field goals, six Panthers scored touchdowns, the Northern Iowa defense made three interceptions and held Division I newcomer St. Thomas to 26 rushing yards in a 44-3 win on Saturday. St. Thomas, which made the jump from Division III this season, was making its first appearance in Cedar Falls since 1927. The Tommies (1-1) had made eight D-III playoff appearances in the last 11 seasons. They make their inaugural run through the Pioneer League with eight games starting next week.

Northern Iowa (2-1), a Missouri Valley power, gave the newcomers a tuneup, building a 20-point lead after three quarters and then scoring three more touchdowns to close out the final quarter. Dom Williams and Vance McShane, Bradrick Shaw, Vance McShane and Kolby Gartner scored rushing touchdowns for the Panthers, who gained 193 yards on the ground and averaged 6.2 yards per carry. Isaiah Weston pulled in a 60-yard TD pass from Theo Day. Benny Sapp III came up with two interceptions and Stefan Black II picked up a third for UNI. - Northern Iowa/AP College Football

  Dom Williams scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns and Northern Iowa smothered Youngstown State 21-0 on Saturday. Matthew Cook kicked field goals of 32 and 41 yards in each of the first two quarters to give the Panthers (1-1, 1-1 Missouri Valley Conference) a 6-0 halftime lead. After a scoreless third, Williams plunged in from 2 yards early in the fourth to end an 11-play, 57-yard drive for a 13-0 lead. A little more than six minutes later, Williams crashed in from a yard out and the two-point conversion made it 21-0. Before the end of the first half, a Penguins (0-2, 0-2) assistant coach dipped his shoulder into Panthers' wideout Quan Hampton who ran out of bounds to stop the clock.
