Chris Jackson, a former Michigan State cornerback who just finished his redshirt sophomore season with the Spartans, announced his commitment to WSU on Thursday afternoon. With the NCAA's extra year of eligibility, Jackson will still be a redshirt sophomore this fall, and should have two more years to play after sitting out due to transfer rules. The Cougars have added four transfers this offseason, including Jackson. Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano and TCU linebacker Ben Wilson, a Sumner, Washington, native, have both enrolled at WSU and will participate in spring practice. Hawaii wide receiver Lincoln Victor, another transfer who played high school football in the Evergreen State, announced his commitment to the Cougars but hasn't signed a letter of intent. - Spokesman-Review

The exodus out of the Michigan State football program continued on Christmas Eve. Redshirt sophomore cornerback Chris Jackson became the latest Spartans player to enter the NCAA transfer portal, submitting his name Thursday. His departure is not a surprise as head coach Mel Tucker hinted that it was coming before the early signing period last week. Jackson made two starts at the outset of the season before suffering an injury that caused him to miss games against Iowa and Indiana.

He later returned to the field against Northwestern and Ohio State as a reserve. By the time the Spartans' final game was canceled against Maryland last weekend, Jackson logged 190 snaps on defense and special teams while contributing nine tackles and a pass breakup. A former three-star prospect from Marietta, Georgia, Jackson becomes the 13th Michigan State player to enter the transfer portal since Nov. 16 as head coach Mel Tucker continues to reshape the roster during his first year in East Lansing. - Lansing State Journal
