Another senior has announced plans to return to the Louisville football program next year. Offensive lineman Robbie Bell, who was injured in the Cardinals' loss to Boston College, will return for his extra year of eligibility. Bell, who redshirted his freshman year, will be in his sixth year with the program when the season begins next year. He returns with 36 games of experience under his belt and 30 career starts. With the addition of Virginia Tech transfer Bryan Hudson, on Saturday, Louisville has bolstered its offensive line heavily in the last few days. - Courier Journal

Jared Goldwire has been one of the most talked about defensive players in the Louisville offseason, but even he has to rave about Tabarius Peterson. Peterson, a redshirt-senior defensive end, has impressed just about everybody in the program this offseason. After starting every game last year and finishing the season with 24 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, five quarterback hurries and one forced fumble, he's stepping into an even bigger role. As one of eight returning starters from last year, he's the most experienced player on the line and has been asked to be a bigger leader. He's passed that test so far.

"TP (Peterson) is a constant leader, plays hard and does the things you want him to do," Louisville defensive line coach Mark Ivey said. But on the field is where he'll also need to make a big impact. Louisville tallied 27 sacks last year, an improvement from 2018, but still just 12th in the ACC. Peterson spent his offseason working on his technique, working out every day and refusing to take days off even in quarantine, ready to make his final season his best. And the feeling around the program is that Peterson is poised to break out for Louisville. "He is playing much more explosive, and he just looks more determined. I think he'll have a great year this year. I'll be shocked if he doesn't," Ivey said. - Courier Journal
