  SEPT 2/WEEK 1 OVC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Wanya Moton, S, 6-1, 190, So., Murfreesboro, Tenn., UT Martin,...Moton had seven tackles and a pair of interceptions, one of which he returned 78 yards for a touchdown, as UT Martin topped Northwestern State 42-20 in its season-opener. His first interception came in the second quarter, stopping a drive at the UT Martin 36-yard line, as the Skyhawks went into the locker room trailing 20-14. After the Skyhawks had taken the lead in the third quarter, Moton picked off a pass with five minutes to play in the fourth quarter, returning it to pay dirt to put his team on top 35-20. Moton is one of three FCS players who had two interceptions in week one.
