Draft Scout *Zach Ertz News
12/30/18 - TE Zach Ertz had three catches against the Redskins to end the year with 116 receptions, the most ever by an NFL tight end.
12/17/18 - TE Zach Ertz became just the fourth tight end in NFL history to record 100-plus receptions in a single season. He has 101 and joins Jason Witten in 2012 (110), Tony Gonzalez in 2004 (102) and Dallas Clark in 2009 (100). Ertz had three catches on Sunday night and has 1,038 yards receiving this season.
12/16/18 - TE Zach Ertz caught three passes against the Rams to go over 100 for the season. He now has 101 and is trying to set the NFL record for catches in a season by a tight end set by Jason Witten, who made 110 in 2012.
11/26/18 - TE Zach Ertz continues to have a season for the record books, not only the team but the NFL, too. He had seven catches for 91 yards on Sunday, with his sixth TD catch, all of which have come in the red zone. He now has a career-high 84 receptions this season for a career-high 895 yards. His 84 catches broke the team's single-season mark of 81 set by Keith Jackson in 1988 and he is just the sixth Eagle to have 800-plus receiving yards in four straight seasons, joining Jeremy Maclin (2010-14), DeSean Jackson (2008-11), Mike Quick (1983-86), Harold Carmichael (1978-81) and Tommy McDonald (1959-62).
He is also on track to become just the fourth tight end in NFL history to record 100 catches. The others are Jason Witten (110 in 2012), Tony Gonzalez (102, 2004), and Dallas Clark (100, 2009).
"Probably at the end of the season you can look back and say what a great season (Ertz) had individually, but collectively we're still trying to win a football game," said Pederson. "He's obviously a big part of that, whether it be in the red zone or out in the field. He's on pace having good season, but I would -- I could speak for Zach and say that his ultimate (goal) is to win the football game, whether he gets nine catches or no catches. Bottom line is he wants to win the game."
11/12/18 - TE Zach Ertz was targeted 16 times and made 14 catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns. He leads the Eagles in TDs this season with five of them.
