08/22/18 - S George Iloka signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Wednesday. Prior to the Vikings' announcement, Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Iloka was headed to Minnesota to make it official. Terms of the deal were not announced by the Vikings, who also claimed rookie fullback Luke McNitt off waivers on Wednesday.
08/19/18 - S George Iloka was waived by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in a move that clears $5.3 million in salary cap space this year for a team that reportedly said it overspent in free agency. Iloka was is in his seventh year out of Boise State. He signed a five-year, $30 million contract in 2016. Since the end of last year, especially after the arrival of new defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, Iloka reportedly has not been part of the Bengals' plans. Austin and the front office have pointed out Iloka had only one interception last year.
12/06/17 - S George Iloka' one-game suspension was overturned and he instead received a $36,464.50 fine for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, the league announced Wednesday. Iloka's initial suspension stemmed from the play when Brown hauled in a 6-yard touchdown pass in the end zone from Ben Roethlisberger to tie the score 20-20 with 3:51 left in Monday night's game. Iloka was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play in the fourth quarter of the Bengals' 23-20 loss. Iloka was suspended by NFL vice president of player operations Jon Runyan on Tuesday but NFL independent appeals officer Derrick Brooks overturned the ruling.
12/05/17 - S George Iloka of the Cincinnati Bengals received a one-game suspension from the NFL for violations of safety-related playing rules in Monday's contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers.. Iloka drilled Antonio Brown in the head and neck area after the Steelers wideout reeled in a 6-yard touchdown reception with 3:55 remaining in the contest. Brown was deemed to be a defenseless receiver at the time of the hit.
08/17/17 - S George Iloka returned to practice on a limited basis this week and likely won't play in Saturday's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Iloka suffered a sprained knee on July 30 and there is no timetable for his return to full contact. Iloka would like to get some snaps in a preseason game.
