  Derek Robertson threw four touchdown passes, Maine rushed for 264 yards, and the Black Bears rolled past Rhode Island 45-24 on Saturday. Robertson fired 31 yards to Devin Young and 22 yards to Andre Miller top help stake Maine to a 24-3 lead after a half. Kasim Hill threw a pair of third quarter touchdown passes to bring the Rams within 24-16 but Robertson answered with a 28-yard strike to Daniel Rymer and added a 13-yard toss to Shawn Bowman before Freddie Brock added an 18-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring in the fourth quarter. Robertson was 18 of 37 for 264 yards and had a pass picked off to lead Maine (4-4, 3-3 Colonial Athletic Association). Brock added 140 yards on 20 carries. Hill was 11 of 20 for 177 yards and three touchdowns to lead Rhode Island (5-3, 3-3). Paul Woods had four catches for 102 yards and a touchdown. - AP College Football

  Derek Robertson threw for two touchdowns, Freddie Brock scored twice and Maine defeated William & Mary 27-16 on Saturday, ending the Tribe's four-game winning streak. Brock caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Robertson and rushed for a 22-yard score as the Black Bears shot out to a 17-0 halftime lead before making it 24-0 on Robertson's 35-yard TD pass to Devin Young. Jonny Messina added a pair of field goals for the Black Bears (2-4, 1-3 Colonial Athletic Association). The Black Bears rolled up for 417 yards offense with Robertson throwing for 223. They gave up 388 to the Tribe (4-2, 2-1), who had 258 on the ground, but William & Mary had two passes intercepted and lost a fumble. Darius Wilson threw for a 76-yard touchdown to Zach Burdick but had the two interceptions. Donavyn Lester ran for 112 yards on 13 carries.   Joe Gillette accounted for two touchdowns to lead Lafayette to a 24-14 victory over Pennsylvania on Saturday. Gillette caught a 70-yard touchdown pass from Ah-Shaun Davis - his first career scoring throw - that gave Lafayette (1-3) a 17-14 lead midway through the third quarter. The Leopards' Billy Shaeffer had two interceptions, including a 41-yard pick-6 that capped the scoring with 14 seconds left in the third. Gillette, a junior receiver, also had a 29-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He finished with 49 yards rushing and caught five passes for 91 yards. Davis was 12 of 18 for 157 yards passing. John Quinnelly threw a touchdown pass and three interceptions for Penn (1-1). He was 18-of-34 passing for 244 yards. - AP College Football

The senior's first blocked PAT was returned 75 yards for a defensive extra point by Kolubah Pewee, Jr. and the second, which he returned for two points, came late in the third period.   Freddie Brock had a rushing and receiving touchdown, Elijah Barnwell added a score on the ground, and Maine beat Merrimack 31-26 on Saturday in the first meeting between the two teams. Brock caught a pass out of the backfield and raced for a 51-yard scored to give Maine a 29-20 lead early in the third quarter. Ray Miller intercepted a fourth-quarter pass for Maine's fourth takeaway, and the Black Bears forced a turnover on downs with 3:15 remaining before running out the clock. Derek Robertson was 11-of-23 passing for Maine (1-2). Brock rushed for 47 yards on 10 carries and he caught two passes for 64 yards. Barnwell rushed for 78 yards on 17 carries. Westin Elliott passed for 282 yards and two touchdowns, but was intercepted twice for Merrimack (2-1).   Boston College wide receiver Kobay White underwent anterior cruciate ligament surgery on his knee Tuesday morning and will be out for the remainder of the season. The 5-11, 195-pound, graduate student from Harrisburg, Pa., developed knee problems in training camp and was unable to participate in last Saturday's 26-6 victory at Duke. "Kobay had surgery on his ACL yesterday (Tuesday) so he will be out for the year," said BC head coach Jeff Hafley. "I didn't want to say anything, I wanted him to have his surgery and clear his head and not have to read about it all over the media. "So, out of respect for him I wanted to make sure everything went OK and everything did go OK and he's on to recovery. We'll miss him.
