  Quinton Williams threw two touchdown passes and Howard claimed a share of the MEAC regular-season championship, defeating Morgan State 35-6 on Saturday. The Bison (5-6, 4-1) finished tied with North Carolina Central for first place but North Carolina Central won the head-to-head matchup with Howard and claimed the league's automatic bid to the FCS playoffs. Howard's first-place finish is the first for the Bison since 1993. Williams completed 17 of 24 passes for 241 yards. Alfonzo Graham had 111 yards rushing for the Bears (4-7, 2-3), but Morgan State quarterbacks Roderick Walker and Duce Taylor combined to go only 8-for-25 passing for 67 yards. - AP College Football

  Jarett Hunter accounted for 192 total yards and three touchdowns and Howard scored four answered touchdowns in beating South Carolina State 28-14 on Saturday. Hunter ran for 149 yards on 12 carries and scored once and had three receptions for 43 yards and two touchdowns. The Bulldogs took their lone lead when Prometheus Franklin II threw a 22-yard touchdown to Jordan Smith on their third drive of the game. Howard countered on its following drive when Hunter ran it in from the 7 to tie it at 7-all.

In the second quarter, Kasey Hawthorne scored on a 5-yard run for a 14-7 lead, and with 1:38 before intermission, Quinton Williams threw a 23-yard scored to Hunter. Before the end of the third, Howard sealed it when Williams threw a 2-yard score to Hunter. Franklin threw for 70 yards and ran for 44 for South Carolina State.   Quinton Williams engineered seven touchdowns over the final three quarters and Howard thundered past Norfolk State for a 49-21 victory in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action on Saturday. The Bison (3-5, 2-0) staked Norfolk State to a 7-0 lead after one quarter, then outscored the Spartans 49-14 the rest of the way. Williams passed to Antoine Murray to tie the game early in the second quarter and Kasey Hawthorne scored from the 3 with :25 left in the second to take a 14-7 lead at intermission. Eden James ran 66 yards for a score to make it 28-14 after three quarters and Williams ran in from the 11 and passed 28 yards to Matthew McDonald in the fourth quarter. Williams finished 17 of 22 for 171 yards and three touchdowns with an interception and had 39 yards and a score on nine carries. Otto Kuhns ran for a touchdown and passed for a second in the fourth quarter, and Jordin Lennon raced 67 yards for a third-quarter touchdown for Norfolk State (1-7, 1-2). - Howard/AP College Football

  Quinton Williams threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third, Kasey Hawthorne ran 75 yards and Jarrett Hunter 74 for touchdowns and Howard routed Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference co-leader Delaware State, 35-17, to snap a two-game losing streak and earn just its second win of the season on Saturday. Delaware State came into the game with a 4-2 record, its best mark through the first six games since 2007, and having won its MEAC opener for the first time since 2014 and its first official conference road win over that same span. The Hornets also came in having won three straight meetings with the Bison.

Jonathan Cardoza-Chicas kicked a 51-yard field goal in the first quarter to put Delaware State on the board first, but Williams answered with a 6-yard toss to Nah'Shawn Hezekiah and Hawthorn broke off his touchdown run to give the Bison a 14-3 lead after a quarter and the lead held up at intermission. Williams threw 14 yards to Matthew McDonald to start the third quarter and scored on a 6-yard run to make it 28-3 heading into the fourth. Marquis Gillis got the Hornets into the end zone in the fourth quarter, scoring on a 31-yard run, but Hunter answered with his long run on the second play of Howard's next possession. Thomas Bertrand-Hudon punched in from the 2 in the final minute to set the final score. Williams was 11-of-17 passing for 110 yards and the Bison ground game posted 266 yards on 40 carries. C.J.
