  03/26/21 - K Anders CarlsonrSr/2023, Auburn

Before the 2020 season, Auburn kicker Anders Carlson felt he had the ability to be the best kicker in the nation. Looking back, he feels he was very close to accomplishing that goal. "I was proud of the season I had last year," Carlson said. "I had some goals set out and I was right there where I wanted to be. One or two kicks the other way and I think I could have been the top guy in the nation." Carlson finished his junior season with a 90 percent completion rate for field goals, going 20-22, and a 96 percent completion rate for extra point kicks, going 24-25. By the end of the season, Carlson rose in Auburn's history books to fourth in made field goals and sixth in scoring. Additionally, he averaged 62 yards per kickoff with touchbacks on 62 percent of them. He also finished the season with a diploma in hand. Since he graduated in December, Carlson could have joined his brother Daniel in the NFL or easily transferred to a school that isn't going through a coaching change. But he decided he loves Auburn so much he wants to spend all four years here. - Birmingham News
