Ohio State football's candidates for the College Football Hall of Fame is now a trio. Defensive back Mike Doss joined linebacker James Laurinaitis and offensive tackle Chris Ward on the 78-man ballot for the 2021 induction class. The ballot went out Tuesday, and the selections will be announced in early 2021. Doss was a three-time first team All-American. The Canton native totaled 331 tackles, eight interceptions, six sacks and eight fumble recoveries. His most famous takeaway was an interception against Miami quarterback Ken Dorsey to help secure the 2002 BCS National Championship game victory. Doss was the 2002 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year prior to a seven-year NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals. Laurinaitis piled up 375 tackles in his OSU career, including 24.5 for loss, with 13 sacks and nine interceptions. - Cleveland Plain Dealer
