Outland Trophy nominee Kadeem Telfort has been present at every practice, working individual drills, but is currently not taking part in team drills. He's worn a walking boot the past few practices but only as a precautionary measure. In his stead, Trey Bedosky has earned reps at left tackle but is expected to take up the right tackle position upon Telfort's return. With Bedosky at right tackle, Sidney Wells moved back outside and Zaire Flournoy was seen taking reps at right guard with the first unit. - Birmingham Post Herald

Bill Clark's preferred replacement is now official. Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Bryant Vincent has been named interim head coach of the UAB football program for the upcoming season, announced today by UAB athletic director Mark Ingram. "We are thankful for the tremendous job Bill Clark has done leading our program through unprecedented times; we certainly wish him well and hope that he has a full recovery," Ingram said. "After meeting with Coach Bryant Vincent, our team and staff over the last few days, and in consultation with President Ray Watts and the UA System Board of Trustees, we have asked Coach Vincent to serve as our Interim Head Coach. He is well-respected by our players and staff and has the full support of our athletics administration and university leadership. UAB will perform a national coaching search at the conclusion of the season, but right now our focus is on the present and getting this tremendous team ready to make another run at a Conference USA Championship." Vincent was initially hired as offensive coordinator when Clark took the reigns of the program in 2014 and spent three years at South Alabama under former head coach Joey Jones following the dismissal of the UAB program. - Birmingham Post Herald
