 Edward Warinner, Michigan, Player News

Edward Warinner turned heads last year when he made the rare decision to transfer from Michigan State to Michigan. Now, more than 18 months later and his father no longer on Jim Harbaugh's coaching staff, he's looking elsewhere. Warinner, the rarely used linebacker-turned-special teams player, entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal this week, a team spokesman confirmed to MLive on Thursday. While the move doesn't necessarily guarantee that Warinner will transfer, it allows coaches from other schools to contact him. And vice versa. After enrolling at Michigan in January 2020, Warinner appeared in just three games last fall for the Wolverines, primarily in a special-teams role. He was never utilized on the defensive side of the ball, despite coming to Ann Arbor with some experience playing linebacker at Michigan State. - Ann Arbor News
