  2022 ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM: DL - Janathian Turner, R-Sr., Gardner-Webb,...Turner, one of the league's most underrated defenders, was an anchor in the middle for GWU in 2022. The 6-foot-3, 306-pound redshirt senior finished his final year with 45 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and four quarterback pressures - despite constant double teams. He has 17.0 tackles for loss and 160 total tackles for his career with the Runnin' Bulldogs. - Gardner-Webb Football

  MARCH 1 BIG SOUTH DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gardner-Webb defensive tackle Janathian Turner recorded seven tackles, 1.0 sack (-10 yards) and 1.0 TFL (-10), and teamed with French to stuff a fake punt near midfield in the decisive third quarter. Turner's seven stops helped limit the Phoenix to just 270 total yards and 71 yards rushing, while his sack forced a punt that was returned for a touchdown.
