2022 CAA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR: D'Ago Hunter, Towson,...Hunter was one of the dynamic returners in FCS football. The senior led the CAA and ranked 2nd in FCS in punt return average (16.2 avg), and topped the conference and was 18th in FCS in k ickoff return average (24.6 avg). He was one of seven players with at least two kickoff returns for touchdowns in 2022, breaking a 96-yarder at West Virginia and a 92-yarder at Monmouth. NOV 7 CAA FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: D'Ago Hunter, Sr., KR/PR, Towson (Culpeper Va./Eastern View),...Hunter returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown and also had a 60-yard kickoff return as Towson topped Villanova, 27-3. The senior finish ed with 172 all-purpose yards and became the first Tigers' player to return a punt for a TD since 2017. He returned five kickoffs for 181 yards and two punts for 90 yards, with the combined yardage the most by an FCS player since 2015. He also had 52 rushing yards and 11 receiving yards in finishing with 334 all -purpose yards (the third-highest total of the FCS season). SEPT 19 CAA FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: D'Ago Hunter, Sr., KR, Towson (Culpeper, Va./Eastern View),...Hunter returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown in Towson's game at Big 12 foe West Virginia. It was the first kickoff return for a TD for him and the Tigers since 2019 and tied the contest at 7-7. It was the 6th-longest return by a FCS player this season.
