The plague of injuries that has marred Todd Bradley-Glenn's football career appears to have no bounds. The Georgia Southern inside linebacker will miss the rest of this season with a knee injury requiring surgery, head coach Clay Helton said Monday. Brad ley-Glenn, a seventh-year player, already was sidelined two games because of a dislocated elbow and returned to action Saturday at Georgia State, only to suffer the knee injury on the first series of the second half. In parts of four games for the Eagles (3-3, 0-2 Sun Belt Conference), he has 10 solo tackles, nine assisted tackles, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hurry. Bradley-Glenn is a team co-captain and the quarterback of the defense as the mike linebacker relaying the play call to teammate s. Helton used the word "unfortunate" when announcing the knee injury, which follows the player's personal history of adversity. - Savannah Morning News

Georgia Southern coach Clay Helton said after Saturday's loss to UAB that inside linebacker and team captain Todd Bradley-Glenn suffered a dislocated elbow that caused him to leave the game near the close of the third quarter. "We'll see how significant it is," Helton said. "They did get it back in place and they've got it slinged up. Depending on what the MRI says later on, we'll see how it goes." Bradley-Glenn, in three quarters of play, made four solo tackles and assisted on three others and also had a quarterback hurry. He is in his seventh year after a series of season-ending football injuries and overcoming cancer in high school. He voted one of the team captains before the 2022 opener. - Savannah Morning News

It was a cruel coincidence how two of Georgia Southern's most experienced football players - whose uniform numbers were each changed to No. 1, befitting their leadership qualities - missed the Eagles' second and final scrimmage of the fall preseason on S aturday. Coach Chad Lunsford said fifth-year running back J.D. King was held out as a precaution as the former No. 15 completes his recovery from a torn ACL that ended his 2020 season prematurely. King has been medically cleared, and played in the Aug. 1 4 scrimmage, but was on the sidelines Saturday at Paulson Stadium.Then Lunsford said he had some bad news that only reinforced why taking precautions is advisable in this contact sport. Inside linebacker Todd Bradley-Glenn, a sixth-year senior wit h a well-chronicled history of serious injuries while playing at Valdosta High School and in Statesboro, had torn his left biceps muscle in the first scrimmage and will miss the entire 2021 season. "That is a huge blow for us at the linebacker spot, but more importantly, it's a huge blow for us because of what an awesome leader he was on the field for us," Lunsford said. - Savannah Morning News
