 Neil Nunn, Syracuse, Player News

  10/28/20 - CB Neil NunnrJr/2025, Syracuse, 6-0, 188 (DS#999 CB) + More +

Syracuse defensive back Neil Nunn had surgery to repair a torn ACL on Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season. The redshirt freshman posted pictures of himself in a brace and with the knee wrapped on Instagram. His mother, Marie Hollin, confirmed the nature of the injury and said it occurred in practice. She said the surgery was deemed successful and that it also allowed doctors to clean up a small tear he had suffered previously that hadn't healed correctly. "Recovery is seven to eight months," she said in a written message. "He will be a beast when he returns. We're so grateful at this point... Looking forward to a great future with 'Cuse." Nunn played in each of Syracuse's first four games of the year, making three tackles, but watched the Liberty game from the sidelines due to the injury. He added depth to a defensive backfield that has played exceptionally well this season despite a rash of injuries. Syracuse played without safeties Andre Cisco, Eric Coley and Trill Williams against Clemson last week but held its own on defense, receiving standout performances from Ifeatu Melifonwu and Garrett Williams. - The Post-Standard
