2019 AFCA DIVISION II COACHES' FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: OL Grant Stewart, R-Sr., Colorado School of Mines,...A two-year captain, Stewart started all 13 games for RMAC champion Mines (12-1), with 11 starts at left tackle and two at right tackle. Stewart was a 2019 College Football Yearbook America and Lindy's Preseason All-American, and was named First-Team All-RMAC last month. He leads an offensive line that at the end of the regular season ranked in the NCAA D-II top-10 in first downs (2nd), total offense (8th), and rushing offense (6th). Mines had top team rushing games of 440, 400, and 395 yards this year, including six games of 275+ yards as they've produced a 1,000-yard rusher in Michael Zeman. In pass protection, the line helped true freshman John Matocha pass for 2,825 yards and 29 touchdowns with a 73.7 percent completion rating.

The versatile Stewart started every game of his career and will graduate as the Mines co-career leader in starts (49), playing two seasons at center, one at right tackle, and primarily at left tackle in 2019. He has three RMAC championship rings (2016, 2018, 2019) has been captain for two of those, and in both 2016 and 2018, Mines had NCAA D-II's #1 total offense. Impressively, Mines has produced a 1,000-yard rusher in each of Stewart's four seasons, and the team has produced four of its top five all-time rushing yardage games during Stewart's career. - Colorado School of Mines Football

2019 GENE UPSHAW DIVISION II LINEMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD FINALIST: Left tackle Grant Stewart of Colorado School of Mines,...A two-year captain, Stewart has started all 11 games at left tackle for 11-0 Mines, moving there in preseason from right tackle after an injury to Riley Miller in preseason. Stewart was a 2019 College Football Yearbook America and Lindy's Preseason All-American, and was named First-Team All-RMAC earlier this week. He leads an offensive line that ranks in the NCAA D-II top-10 in first downs (2nd), total offense (8th), and rushing offense (6th), and Mines has top team rushing games of 440, 400, and 395 yards this year, including six games of 275+ yards as they've produced a 1,000-yard rusher in Michael Zeman.
