Southern California receiver Drake London has declared his eligibility for the upcoming NFL draft after three seasons with the Trojans. London was named the Pac-12's offensive player of the year this week after racking up 88 catches for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns despite playing in only 7 1/2 games for the Trojans. He broke his right ankle in a game against Arizona in late October and missed the rest of the season. "I cannot wait to get started on the next chapter of my life," London wrote in a message on his Twitter account. "I will forever be a Trojan and cannot wait to represent the best brotherhood in the NFL." Before his injury, London was one of the nation's top receivers for the Trojans, producing five games with at least 10 catches and six games with at least 130 yards receiving. He joined Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree in 2007 as the only Power 5 conference players with at least 88 receptions through eight games of a season. London became one of the most prolific receivers in USC's rich history at the position after he stopped moonlighting with the Trojans' basketball team and concentrated on football. London arrived at the school as a two-sport athlete, and he played basketball briefly in early 2020. - AP College Football

Drake London briefly broke into tears while sitting on a cart with an air cast around his right leg as he left the Coliseum field, perhaps for the final time. If one of the best receivers in Southern California's football history has played his last collegiate game, at least his final play was a touchdown catch during a win for the Trojans. London caught nine passes for 81 yards and two scores before leaving with a serious right ankle injury late in the first half, dampening USC's 41-34 victory over winless Arizona on Saturday night.

Keaontay Ingram rushed for a career-high 204 yards and a touchdown, and Gary Bryant Jr. caught two TD passes as the Trojans (4-4, 3-3 Pac-12) snapped their three-game home losing streak. They also extended the Wildcats' epic skid to 20 games, the longest active slide in the Football Bowl Subdivision and the longest in Pac-12 history. But London injured his right leg while making his second TD catch on a 6-yard pass from Jaxson Dart. London, who set an FBS record with 79 catches in his team's first seven games this season, returned to the USC bench in the second half with a cast on his leg. Interim coach Donte Williams said "there's a concern" the ankle injury will be season-ending for London, a prime NFL prospect. "Seeing a player like him go down, the whole team felt it," Ingram said. Kedon Slovis and Dart threw two touchdown passes apiece while splitting time behind center for the Trojans in a sharing plan set up by Williams, who apparently didn't tell Slovis or most of the rest of the USC offense about his intentions before the game. - Southern California/AP College Football

Drake London racked up some incredible receiving numbers when Southern California's offense was on the field. When San Jose State had the ball, the Trojans' defense often looked impenetrable. Yet No. 15 USC's lead was still stuck in the single digits until a fourth-quarter surge rewarded the Trojans with a suitable margin of season-opening victory. London caught a career-high 12 passes for 137 yards, Greg Johnson returned a late interception 37 yards for a touchdown and the Trojans pulled away for a 30-7 victory over the Spartans.

USC still hasn't lost a home opener played in the Coliseum in the 21st century. But until the fourth quarter, this victory was another version of the underwhelming starts that have been common under seventh-year head coach Clay Helton. The Trojans led the defending Mountain West champions just 13-7 heading into the final period, but the USC defense capped its impressive day with Johnson's TD return to push the lead to 23-7 with 11:42 to play, followed by a stop of the Spartans on downs near the goal line with 7:20 left. "We felt like the defense was dominating the whole game, but the score was still close," USC defensive tackle Tuli Tuipulotu said. "We just had to keep working." They also had to get some help from the offense at the 98-year-old Coliseum, where USC's fans watched their team for the first time since 2019. - Southern California/AP College Football

The most physically dominant skill position athlete in the conference at 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds. London abandoned basketball this winter to focus on football and enters '21 as our pick for Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year. His 40-yard dash time a year from now will be crucial to his ultimate draft position, but we won't be surprised to see the DK Metcalf comparisons surface at the Combine. - Oakland Tribune

Drake London hadn't ventured away from the slot much at all until this spring. Turns out, his talent still translates on the outside. No offensive player was more dominant during 15 practices than London, who seems well on his way to being one of the nation's top receivers in 2021. - Los Angeles Times

Drake London caught a 21-yard touchdown pass with 1:20 to play, and No. 20 Southern California rallied from a late 13-point deficit for a 28-27 victory over Arizona State on Saturday in the Pac-12's long-delayed season opener. Bru McCoy caught a deflected 26-yard TD pass with 2:52 left for the Trojans (1-0), and Max Williams recovered the onside kick. On fourth and 9, Kedon Slovis fired a pass down the middle to London, and the two-sport athlete beat double coverage to haul it in for an electrifying score.

USC's defense then stopped Arizona State (0-1) on downs near midfield with 50 seconds left to preserve an astonishing comeback for perpetually embattled coach Clay Helton's team. Until their rally, the Trojans were struggling through a game that began at 9 a.m. USC agreed to its earliest kickoff in at least 70 years for a national television audience, but it looked like another embarrassment for Helton and his Trojans - before it abruptly turned into a thrilling triumph. Slovis passed for 381 yards for USC, while Stephen Carr and Markese Stepp made scoring runs in the first half. London also caught eight passes for 125 yards, but the Trojans seemed finished after they committed three turnovers and turned the ball over on downs two more times - all inside ASU territory. - AP College Football
