Ty Harris, Western Carolina, Player News

NOV 11 SOCON DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ty Harris, Western Carolina, Jr., LB, Dacula, Ga.,...Western Carolina linebacker Ty Harris shared game-high honors with 11 tackles, eight solo, in the Catamounts' 23-20, overtime win over ETSU on Saturday. The junior from Dacula, Georgia, counted a career-best 4.0 tackles for loss among his total, the most in a game by a SoCon player this season. Harris helped Western Carolina hold the Bucs to just 265 yards of total offense, the fewest yards the Catamounts have allowed to a Division I opponent this season. The weekly award is the first of Harris' career. Other nominees: Artevius Smith (ETSU), Joshua Carter (Samford), Brandon Dowdell (Chattanooga) and Michael Mason (Wofford). - Southern Conference Football
