He enters the playoffs averaging 46.1 yards per kick, a career high and a mark that ranks second in the WAC. 2019 ALL-SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): P Matt McRobert, Sam Houston State, R-Jr., Berowra, Australia,...The Kats also snagged first team punter honors with Australia native Matt McRobert taking that spot. He finished the regular season with an average of 44.3 yards per punt, a mark that ranked tops in the SLC and sixth in all of the FCS, while also ranking third in the FCS in net punting. He had 20 punts on the year that traveled over 50 yards, including a 74-yarder against HBU that tied hi s own school record set last year. He punted 85 times for the year, but only had three touchbacks, pinning the opposition inside the red zone 29 times. - Sam Houston State Football

OCT 21 SOUTHLAND SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Matt McRobert, Sam Houston State, Jr., Punter, Berorwa, Australia,...McRobert averaged 45.1 yards per punt on seven boots with a long of 64 yards in a 17-0 upset of No. 9 Nicholls. He pinned the Colonels inside their own 20-yard line on three attempts and placed them within the 10-yard line on a pair of punts. Just beyond field-goal range in the fourth quarter, a 31-yard kick landed Nicholls at their own five-yard line. The Colonels' average starting fi eld position in the loss was their own 21-yard line.
