2022 ALL-AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM: OG Prince Pines, Tulane, Jr.,...Joining Tyjae Spears from the offense as AAC First Team All-Conference selections this year is guard Prince Pines and center Sincere Haynesworth. Pines and Sincere Haynesworth have helped paved the way for a Tulane offense that is averaging 34.3 points a game. The offense is putting up 192.3 yards rushing and 223.7 passing yards a contest. Tulane has topped the 20-point barrier in 11 of the team's 12 games with a high of 59 points against SMU. - Tulane Football

  08/29/22 - OG Prince PinesrSr/2024, Tulane, 6-5, 322 (DS#21 OG) + More +

Sam Houston State transfer Prince Pines is the biggest offensive lineman Willie Fritz has coached in seven years at Tulane. The way he has practiced the past few weeks, Fritz expects him to come up large in games, too. Pines - a 6-foot-5, 340-pound Baton Rouge product (University and Tara) - has been the first-team left guard since early in preseason camp. He is showing why he started four games as a redshirt freshman at Baylor in 2019 before heading to Sam Houston State, where he started 22 times in one calendar year after COVID-19 pushed the 2020 season into the spring 2021. He earned second-team All-Southland Conference honors that spring and first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors last fall.

Tulane needed a blocking upgrade after struggling to protect quarterback Michael Pratt. "He can help us big time," Fritz said. "We haven't had guys with his combination of being that big and moving. He's done a great job in camp so far." Quiet on and off the field, Pines made one point loud and clear when explaining how he ended up at Tulane after first committing to Oklahoma State in the offseason. The lure of Louisiana was strong. "Family plays a huge role in everything I do, so it's great having my family be able to come see me and support me," he said. "It's definitely home. Louisiana's a part of my heart, so I'm glad to be back here and able to compete. Tulane's a great institution, so that's what caused me to move." - New Orleans Times Picayune

The Tulane football team has picked up a transfer portal addition and a high school commitment. Offensive lineman Prince Pines, a 6-foot-5, 340-pound Baton Rouge native (University and Tara High) who spent two years at Baylor and two at Sam Houston State, will join the Green Wave next fall as a graduate transfer He was an All-Southland Conference second-team selection and an all-Western Athletic Conference first-team pick in his two seasons at Sam Houston State. As a redshirt freshman at Baylor in 2019, he started the first four games at right guard and played the last 10 as a reserve. - New Orleans Times Picayune

2021 ALL-WESTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): OL - Prince Pines, So., Sam Houston,...The Bearkats started the same five offensive linemen in all 10 games this season, and that included Pines at left guard each time. He's not started all 20 career games he's played in as a Bearkat at that spot and has helped Sam Houston rank in the top five in the FCS in both total and scoring offense this year. - Sam Houston Football
