  Following their sixth Northeast Conference title, the #17 Central Connecticut football team will head to the University at Albany to face the Great Danes in the first round of the FCS Playoffs on Saturday, November 30. Central, one of only three teams in the country still undefeated vs. FCS competition this season, is 11-1 overall and won the NEC title with a perfect 7-0 record. The Blue Devils lead the country with six road wins this season, and were 11-0 against FCS teams in 2019. The lone loss on their schedule came on the road at FBS member Eastern Michigan. Central has won eight straight games since that loss, including Saturday's 43-10 win at Duquesne to extend their school-record to 11 wins on the season.

Central has won nine straight road games vs. FCS opponents dating back to last season. The game will be played at 1 p.m. on ESPN3. The teams will be meeting for the 20th overall time, with the Great Danes holding a 13-6 edge in the series. The last meeting came in 2014, a 19-0 Albany win in New Britain. The last meeting at Albany came in 2013, a 20-17 CCSU victory. The Blue Devils are making their second trip to the NCAA FCS Playoffs.   Aaron Winchester threw two touchdown passes, brothers D.J. and Danley Exilhomme accounted for three scores, and Central Connecticut State wrapped up an undefeated league season with a 43-10 win over Duquesne on Saturday. The 18th-ranked Blue Devils (11-1, 7-0 NEC), who clinched their sixth Northeast Conference title last week, won their eighth straight game and their 11 wins extends the school record for victories in a season. CCSU led 19-10 at halftime then put the game away with two long touchdowns in the third quarter.

Winchester hit Tyshaun James on a 73-yard touchdown pass and D.J. Exilhomme returned an interception for an 87-yard score. Danley Exhilhomme's 25-yard run closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter. He also had a 4-yard run for the game's first score. Winchester completed 9 of 20 passes for 188 yards with the two touchdowns and an interception. For the Dukes (6-5, 4-3), Brett Brumbaugh was 11 of 30 for 111 yards with two interceptions. He threw an 11-yard pass to Kellon Taylor for Duquesne's lone touchdown late in the second quarter.   Aaron Winchester ran for four touchdowns, passed for another and Central Connecticut used a burst of four unanswered TDs to break away from Robert Morris 49-28 on Saturday to clinch the Northeast Conference championship and automatic bid to the FCS playoffs. Danley Exilhomme led all rushers with 185 yards on 26 carries, Winchester gained 91 yards with touchdowns on keepers of 2, 10, 2 and 1 yards. Tyshaun James caught three passes for 68 yards and a TD for the Blue Devils (10-1, 8-0). The 10-win season is a first for Central Connecticut, which clinched the NEC title after its win and Bryant's upset of Duquesne. Winchester finished 8 of 14 passing for 111 yards and no interceptions.

Robert Morris, which came in on a five-game win streak, had a chance to clinch the NEC title and FCS playoff berth. After CCSU took the game-opening possession 84 yards in more than seven minutes to score, the Colonials answered with quick 14 points. Matt Gonzales and Jacob White started things when Gonzales blocked an attempted punt and White returned it 21-yards to score. Caleb Lewis found DeLano Madison for a 13-yard scoring strike and a 14-7 lead Winchester tied it before halftime with a 10-yard run and put the Blue Devils ahead for good with a 2-yard score to open the second half. - AP College Football

  Aaron Winchester threw a 21-yard pass to Kyren Petteway in overtime as Central Connecticut rallied past upset-minded St. Francis (Pennsylvania) 38-31 on Saturday. The Blue Devils (9-1, 5-0 Northeast Conference) are ranked No. 20 in the STATS FCS 25, but had to scramble for the win. The Red Flash (4-6, 2-4) outgained CCSU 434-367 in total offense, ran a dozen more plays, and led 31-28 lead with a little more than four minutes left in the game.

Jason Brown, who completed 35 of 52 for 355 yards, found Ra'Shaun He for a 31-yard TD and the late lead. Winchester then directed the Blue Devils down to the 2-yard line with five seconds on the clock, setting up Joe Zoppi's 19-yard field goal that sent the game into overtime. It was St. Francis' third OT in six Northeast Conference games this season, and the Red Flash have yet to win one. In overtime, CCSU had first possession and, with two completions, Winchester had the Blue Devils up by seven.   Aaron Winchester fired three touchdown passes, including two in the second half, as Central Connecticut State moved to 4-0 in the Northeast Conference with a 27-13 win over Wagner Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils were ranked No. 19 in both Football Championship Subdivision polls following their 28-0 shutout of LIU a week ago, matching their highest-ever ranking. Winchester, the reigning NEC Offensive Player of the Week, found Arthur Gilmore Jr. from 13-yards out in the first quarter to put the Blue Devils in front, 6-3 after Wagner blocked the extra point. CCSU (8-1, 4-0) scored again at the start of the second quarter when Alonzo Mitchell returned a blocked Wagner punt two yards for a touchdown to make it 13-3.

Ryan Yost rallied the Seahawks (1-8, 1-3) by hitting Joshua DelCambre from 20-yards out and Eric Silvester, who hit from 34-yards to open the game, nailed a 21-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to send the game into intermission at 13-13. Winchester hit Kyren Petteway with a 39-yard touchdown and Tyshaun James from 35-yards out in the second half to put the game away. Winchester was 13-19 for 213 yards with an interception. Enyce Walker added a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs for the Blue Devils (7-1, 3-0 Northeast), whose only lost came to FBS opponent Eastern Michigan. CCSU, ranked 24th in the FCS coaches poll, has won four straight. Winchester rolled left before quickly finding Arthur Gilmore Jr. alone in the middle of the end zone for a 4-yard score and a 14-0 halftime lead. The dual-threat signal caller, who was responsible for four first-half touchdowns, totaled 389 yards of offense in a 52-14 triumph over NEC rival Bryant.

He averaged 12.0 yards per pass attempt and 16.1 yards per carry. Completing 68.4 percent of his passes, Winchester threw for 228 yards and connected on a pair of first-quarter scoring strikes to Kyren Petteway. Eight seconds into the second quarter, Winchester dashed 42 yards to paydirt to give CCSU a 21-0 lead. The 6-foot-2 field general was back in the end zone 8:00 later after tucking the ball away on a roll out and turning upfield for a 56-yard touchdown run.   Aaron Winchester threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more - all in the first half - and Central Connecticut defeated Bryant 52-14 on Saturday. Winchester passed for first-quarter touchdowns of 41 and 34 yards to Kyren Pettaway then ran for scores of 42 and 56 yards in the second quarter as the Blue Devils (6-1, 2-0 Northeast Conference) went ahead 28-7 on the way to a 28-14 halftime lead. In the second half, Danley Exilhomme scored on a 2-yard run and his brother, DJ, scored on a 40-yard return of a fumble less than a minute later.

The Blue Devils, ranked No. 25 in the STATS FCS poll and playing their first home game since Sept. 7, outgained the Bulldogs (2-6, 1-2) 555 yards to 279. It was Central Connecticut's first game since Ryan McCarthy was promoted from head coach to interim coach. He was named interim coach in the spring when Pete Rossomando left to become an assistant coach at Rutgers.
