  Jeff Undercuffler threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns, leading Akron to a 44-12 victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday in the season finale for both teams. Akron picked up its first Mid-American Conference win of the season, helped in large part by a 20-point second quarter. Trailing 6-0 through one quarter, the Zips got rolling with Undercuffler touchdown passes of 15 yards to Daniel George and 4 yards to Alex Adams. Cory Smigel had two field goals and the Zips led 20-6 at halftime. In the third quarter, Adams hauled in a pass that may have been intended for a different receiver and raced mostly untouched to the end zone on a 61-yard play.

In the fourth quarter, Clyde Price had an 8-yard TD run and Tyson Durant returned an interception 76 yards for Akron's final touchdown. Undercuffler completed 21 of 32 passes with the three touchdowns and he was intercepted once. Cam Wiley added 128 yards rushing and Adams had 150 receiving yards for the Zips (2-9, 1-6). NIU's Nevan Cremascoli was 14-of-30 passing for 144 yards and was intercepted twice. John Richardson kicked four field goals for Northern Illinois (3-9, 2-6), all four after the Huskies had reached the red zone.   Jeff Undercuffler threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns and Karl Mofor ran for 90 yards and three scores as Albany rolled to a 41-14 victory over Morgan State in nonconference play on Saturday in a game that was delayed by lightning. Mofor's 4-yard TD run and Undercuffler's 4-yard TD toss to Ian Renninger staked the Great Danes (2-8) to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and they hit cruise control from there. Caylin Parker and Mofor sandwiched 1-yard TD runs around Undercuffler's 23-yard scoring strike to freshman Roy Alexander and the Great Danes took a 34-0 lead into halftime.

Mofor's final TD run was a 2-yarder in the fourth quarter. Romello Kimbrough had two carries for the Bears (1-9), but he made them count - scoring on a 17-yard run in the third quarter and a 4-yarder in the fourth. Undercuffler completed 17 of 31 passes for Albany and ran for 19 yards on his only carry. Thomas Greaney had three receptions for 113 yards, while Jackson Parker caught five for 97. The Great Danes, ranked No. 13 in the FCS Top 25, took a 21-14 lead in the third quarter on Undercuffler's 9-yard TD pass to Karl Mofor and extended it to 24-14 on Dylan Burns' 37-yard field goal early in the fourth. The Wildcats cut the deficit to 24-20 on Max Brosmer's 18-yard touchdown pass to Sean Coyne with 6:48 left. Albany botched a punt that was compounded by a penalty, allowing New Hampshire to start its drive at the Great Danes 7 with 1:07 left. The Wildcats turned in over on downs after two 5-yard penalties and four incomplete passes. Albany was able to run out the clock.   Jeff Undercuffler threw a school-record six touchdown passes and Albany rolled over Central Connecticut State 42-14 on Saturday for the first FCS playoff victory in program history. Albany (9-4), second in the Colonial Athletic Association, lost to Stony Brook in 2011 in its previous FCS playoff appearance. The Great Danes play at No. 5 seed Montana State next Saturday. Undercuffler, a redshirt freshman, finished 19 of 30 for 304 yards. The school season-season passing touchdown leader with 39 bettered the five TDs thrown by Dan Di Lessa against CCSU in 2011. Jerah Reeves caught six passes for 134 yards and a score and Juwan Green seven for 105 yards and two TDs. With the game tied at 7, Undercuffler threw four scoring passes in the third quarter for a 35-7 lead, including 40 yards to Green and 22 to Reeves.   2019 CAA OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Jeff Undercuffler, UAlbany,...Undercuffler ranked second in the nation with a school-record 33 touchdown passes this season. The redshirt freshman completed 225-of-397 passes for a school-record 2,966 yards and was only picked off seven times. Undercuffler threw for over 300 yards four times and had seven games with at least three touchdown passes. He ranks 8th in FCS in points responsible for and is 26th in passing efficiency.   Jeff Undercuffler found Tyler Oedekoven on a 32-yard pass play to break a fourth-quarter tie and Albany toppled New Hampshire 24-17 on Saturday in a meeting of teams tied for second place in the Colonial Athletic Association. Tied at 17 in the final quarter, Albany (7-4, 5-2) sent five receivers downfield on a second-and-9 play. Oedekoven’s burst of speed down the left sideline beat his defender and Undercuffler hit him in stride at the 2 with a rainbow of a pass for the winning score. Undercuffler completed 16 of 27 passes for 199 yards. He was sacked four times. Karl Mofor gained 107 yards rushing with two TDs.   Jeff Undercuffler threw three touchdown passes - two of them to Juwan Green - and Albany held off Delaware 21-17 on Saturday. Undercuffler connected with Green for a 15-yard score and a 7-0 lead for the Great Danes (6-4, 4-2 Colonial Athletic Association) after one quarter. The Blue Hens (4-6, 2-4) answered with Nolan Henderson's 4-yard TD toss to Jourdan Townsend to knot the score at 7 at the 9:32 mark of the second quarter. But Albany responded, using just three plays to go 75 yards for a score. Undercuffler's pass to Green covered the final 64 yards.

Delaware pulled even on Will Knight's 28-yard TD run and took a 17-14 lead into halftime when Jake Roth booted a 21-yard field goal on the final play. After a scoreless third quarter, Undercuffler directed a 10-play, 73-yard drive that culminated with his 13-yard TD toss to Jerah Reeves for a 21-17 lead. Delaware punted twice and turned the ball over on downs from there. Undercuffler completed 13 of 23 passes for 176 yards, while Green finished with seven catches for 132 yards.   Jeff Undercuffler threw four touchdown passes and Albany rallied in the second half to beat Rhode Island 35-28 on Saturday. Undercuffler had 140 yards passing for the Great Danes (5-3, 3-1 Colonial Athletic Association). Karl Mofor ran for 101 yards on 19 carries. Albany trailed 14-6 at halftime but defensive end Eli Mencer sacked Rhode Island's Vito Priore on the opening drive of the second half, forcing a fumble which was picked up by lineman Nick Griffin who returned it 55 yards for a Great Danes touchdown. Rhode Island fumbled the ensuing kickoff return and cornerback Alex Badine recovered, setting up a 13-yard Undercuffler TD pass to LJ Wesneski four plays later for a 21-14 lead with 10:39 left in the third. Turnovers plagued Rhode Island the rest of the game and Albany capitalized on a Priore interception with another scoring pass from Undercuffler to Wesneski, giving the Great Danes the lead for good, 28-21, with 1:09 remaining in the third.   Jeff Undercuffler threw three touchdown passes and Albany scored 24 consecutive points in the second half before holding off a late rally to defeat William & Mary 39-31 on Saturday. Albany (3-2, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association) trailed 24-15 with 6:51 remaining in the third quarter after William & Mary's Hollis Mathis scored on a 56-yard run. The Great Danes punted on their next possession then scored on each of their next four possessions to take a 15-point lead. Undercuffler threw two touchdown passes and Karl Mofor ran for a touchdown to give the Great Danes a 39-24 lead.

After William & Mary (2-3, 0-1) scored on an 83-yard pass from backup quarterback Kilton Anderson to Kane Everson, the Tribe's Alex Purviance recovered their onside kick. The Tribe reached the26-yard line before an incompletion, a sack and another incompletion left them facing fourth-and-16 from the 30. Josh Wynn intercepted Anderson in the end zone on the fourth-down play. Undercuffler was 27-of-41 passing for 291 yards with the three touchdowns and no interceptions. He has 15 touchdown passes and four interceptions this season. Mofor had 95 yards rushing and 53 yards receiving. For William & Mary, Anderson, a senior, was 5 of 10 for 124 yards and the long touchdown. Freshman starter Hollis Mathis was 8-of-10 passing for 68 yards plus 58 yards rushing.
