  12/21/22 - C Beaux LimmerrSr/2024, Arkansas, 6-5, 302 (DS#6 C) + More +

Arkansas has its center for next week's Liberty Bowl against Kansas, and perhaps for next season. Beaux Limmer, who primarily played right guard for the Razorbacks during the regular season, is expected to be the centerpiece of Arkansas' offensive line when it faces the Jayhawks on Dec. 28 in Memphis. He takes over for Ricky Stromberg, a leader and All-SEC performer who declared last month for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Limmer is confident he will perform well in a fairly new role, and Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman feels the same way as the season finale approaches. "One-hundred percent," Limmer said Tuesday of his readiness. "I kind of enjoy running the line and making the calls and everything. I loved playing next to Rick. He knew the offense really well. Me and him had a lot of chemistry. "But I'm excited to take this challenge and maybe next year taking that role on full time." - Northwest Arkansas Times

Based on recent interviews, offensive guard Beaux Limmer and defensive tackle Terry Hampton probably pump the most iron in the weight room for the University of Arkansas. Coach Sam Pittman recently described the 6-5, 300-pound Limmer as "a freakish-type guy," while teammates and defensive line coach Deke Adams talked about the 6-1, 314-pound Hampton as a weight room warrior. "I'm going to tell you, Terry Hampton, I think he eats the weights in the weight room," Adams said. "I mean, he is as strong as I've ever seen." Hampton, an El Dorado native, transferred to the Razorbacks after four seasons at Arkansas State. "He can have a guy in position and hip-toss him in a heartbeat," Adams said. "He's very, very strong and explosive in his movements...He'd probably be the one that gives [Limmer] a run for his money."

Offensive linemen Brady Latham and Luke Jones said the strength coaches have to cut Limmer off from maxing out on his lifts some times. "They're really high, and the thing is, the crazy part is that we don't really know how high, because usually they're like, 'All right Beaux, you've gone high enough, like, we don't need you to go anymore," Latham said of Limmer's personal bests. "I've never seen Beaux fail on a weight. So, like, you name it, he could probably throw it up there." Jones and Latham suggested Limmer, a junior from Tyler, Texas, could put up 600 pounds on the bench and possibly 700 pounds on the squat. - Northwest Arkansas Times

Early in fall camp, defensive tackle Jonathan Marshall said there was only one player on Arkansas' roster who could push him for the title of strongest player. That player was redshirt freshman offensive lineman Beaux Limmer, a former three-star prospect from Tyler, Texas. In his first interview this preseason Monday, Limmer pulled back the curtain a bit on the Razorbacks' unofficial strongman contest. "We're pretty neck and neck," added Limmer, who totaled 30 snaps in four games in 2019. "I think he's probably got me on squats, but everything else we're really close. Back in the summer, we were always having a little friendly competition in the weight room. "We stay together pretty well." When pressed for the amount of weight he was putting up during the offseason, Limmer said he benched roughly 430 pounds, squatted 565 pounds and power cleaned 325 pounds. His work in the weight room has apparently translated to the practice field and Arkansas' scrimmages. With less than two weeks until the Razorbacks' season opener against No. 4 Georgia, Limmer appears to be the frontrunner at right guard. - Northwest Arkansas Times

Arkansas defensive tackle Jonathan Marshall still contends he is the strongest player on the Razorbacks' roster. But the senior said a younger player - one he lines up across from often - is giving him a run for his money for that title. Marshall is referencing redshirt freshman offensive lineman Beaux Limmer. "Me and him are standing toe-to-toe in the weight room," Marshall said Monday during a Zoom conference with reporters. "Beaux Limmer, he's good. He's very good. We have gone against each other (in practices). "He's gotten me a few plays, I've gotten him a few plays. It goes back and forth." Entering the second full-scale scrimmage of the preseason Friday, Limmer appears to have established himself as the Razorbacks' frontrunner at right guard. As of now, coaches also feel most confident in Myron Cunningham at left tackle and sophomore Ricky Stromberg at center.

The strength Marshall referenced is one of the reasons Limmer has been able to push to the front of the pack at his position. Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles said Limmer has been consistent through the opening two-and-a-half weeks of camp. He knows what he is going to get from Limmer each day at practice in drills and live work. "He's got good weight. He's around 305," Briles said Wednesday via Zoom. "But when you see him move, he really plays fast. And then Beaux will strike you, and he'll finish you. He's a really tough kid. "I'm glad he's on our team. He's done a really nice job." - Northwest Arkansas Times
