Data Scout Notes: 2021: NAC...2020: NAC...Transfer from Mississippi State...COVID Safety Concerns Opt-Out/Out for 2020 Season

Taury Dixon, Mississippi State, Player News

A second Mississippi State football player has chosen to opt out of the 2020 season. Senior cornerback Taury Dixon joined junior cornerback Tyler Williams in sitting out. Dixon also intends to leave the program as a graduate transfer at the end of the year. He announced his decisions via Twitter. "After prayer and careful consideration, I have decided to opt out of the Fall 2020 season and Grad transfer in December," Dixon tweeted Monday. "I am thankful for all Mississippi State has done for me. #HailState." It wasn't clear if Dixon's decision was due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Williams was in line to start at corner this season. Dixon has never been more than a special teams player during his time in maroon and white. He arrived in Starkville after a productive carer on both sides of the ball at Germantown High School in Madison. - The Clarion Ledger
