Following an official visit on the weekend of May 14, Moll flipped his commitment from UCF to Washington. He did so despite late offers from Texas and Arizona as well. Now completely healthy, Moll says he's currently sitting at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds and will arrive in Seattle this summer. At UW, Pitt graduate transfer Cam Bright is expected to step into the starting rotation, following the offseason injury to Edefuan Ulofoshio and Cal transfer of last season's top tackler - Jackson Sirmon. Sophomores Carson Bruener and Alphonzo Tuputala also worked with the starters this spring, while sophomores Daniel Heimuli and Drew Fowler and junior Demario King could compete for rotational reps as well.

But coming off a season in which Washington ranked 10th in the Pac-12 in opponent yards per carry (4.76) and 11th in rushing defense (194 yards allowed per game), Moll knows what the Huskies need. "I know that they're in need of another linebacker. I know I can fit that role," he said. "I know they lost their main guy, Eddy. So with them losing him and bringing in Cam (Bright), they need one more guy that can step up and play right now and lead the team and just be an older guy that's going to make plays and grind and be an example to the younger dudes and help them out. I feel like I can do that for the team." And considering his extended transfer portal stay, the 2020 Phil Steele honorable-mention All-American is thankful to have a team at all. "It's like I had a big old heavy bar on my back," Moll said, "and I just finished my set and can put the bar back up and get ready to go." - Seattle Times

On Monday, College of San Mateo EDGE (and Fife High School alum) Sekai Asoau-Afoa announced a transfer to UW. And less than 24 hours later, the prophecy was fulfilled. Former UAB linebacker Kristopher Moll will play his sixth and final season in Seattle, he tweeted Tuesday, flipping his commitment from Central Florida to Washington. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker from Miami brings a bevy of legitimate experience to UW. In five seasons and 47 career games, Moll piled up 221 tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, nine passes defended, six forced fumbles and two interceptions.

The highlight of his UAB tenure was a stellar 2019 season that included 104 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, nine sacks, four forced fumbles and an interception in 13 games - enough to earn first-team All-Conference USA honors. A Coral Gables High School alum, Moll also compiled Phil Steele Honorable Mention All-America and first-team All-Conference USA recognition in the shortened 2020 season - producing 59 tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks in eight games. A broken right thumb ended his 2021 campaign after just four games and 14 total tackles. - Seattle Times

Less than one month after UAB linebacker Kristopher Moll announced he would be transferring to UCF, Moll shared on social media Monday that's no longer the plan. "Thank you UCF family but I will be decommitting," Moll wrote on Twitter. "Will make a big announcement tomorrow!" Moll's decision to back off his verbal pledge to the Knights came hours prior to UCF adding Kansas State transfer and former Maryland linebacker Branden Jennings from the NCAA transfer portal.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker is a Miami (Fla.) native with five years of experience under his belt. A member of the 2017 signing class, Moll is a super senior. He had the best season of his career in 2019, racking up 103 total tackles with nine sacks and four forced fumbles. After making several watchlists for the 2021 season, Moll suffered an injury that put him on the bench after four games and 14 tackles. Moll will have one year to play for the Huskies who are coming off a 4-8 finish last season. - Kristopher Moll twitter and Orlando Sentinel

UAB linebacker Kris Moll is headed back to the Sunshine State for his final year of college football at UCF. He entered the portal seeking to join a Power Five school. "I kept in contact with UCF from when I first went into the portal," Moll said. "They were trying to figure how out to get me to come to school over there because they didn't have a spot." Moll, a Miami native who attended Coral Gables High School, was headed back to the Sunshine State for his final year of college football as a graduate transfer. "Getting this opportunity to come back home for my last year, it's a blessing," he said.

The Knights had already added 5-star and Maryland transfer linebacker Terrence Lewis, who made his way campus for the spring. Shortly after spring camp started, Eastern Illinois transfer linebacker Jason Johnson, a two-time FCS All-American, verbally committed to the Knights. Moll had established himself as not only one of the best defensive players in Conference USA, but the entire country. He had won two conference championships and had received an All-American Honorable Mention. - Orlando Sentinel

UAB has established itself as one of the top defensive units in the nation over the past few years. The Blazers are coming off back-to-back seasons in which they ranked Top 10 nationally in total defense (9th in 2018 and 8th in 2019). A major key for their success has been the ability to rush the quarterback, compiling 92 combined sacks and 217 TFL in the last two seasons. This year's unit will once again be led by Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year candidates Kris Moll (LB) and Jordan Smith (DE), who combined for 33.5 TFL and 19.0 sacks last season. - Alabama-Birmingham Football
