  2021 ALL-BIG SKY CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): QB Davis Alexander, Portland State,...Alexander, a 6-foot, 195-pound senior from Gig Harbor, WA, completed 266 of 432 passes for 3,075 yards, 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions this season. He ranked second in yards and touchdowns in the Big Sky Conference. The 3,076 yards were also the seventh most in a season in PSU history. Alexander also rushed for 160 yards and six touchdowns during the season. Alexander was named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List in 2021. The Payton Award goes to the National Offensive Player of the Year. With 40 career games, and 35 career starts, Alexander ends his career with 9,234 passing yards and 63 touchdowns, both of which rank second all-time at PSU behind Neil Lomax. - Portland State Football

  Davis Alexander passed for 299 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for a score to help Portland State beat Weber State 30-18 on Saturday. Malik Walker sealed it with a 39-yard touchdown with under two minutes to play. Alexander completed 29-of-42 passes for Portland State (5-4, 4-2 Big Sky). Nate Bennett caught nine passes for 83 yards, Darien Chase added 79 yards receiving and a score and Walker finished with 51 yards. Bronson Barron passed for 174 yards for Weber State (4-5, 3-3), which has had a share of the Big Sky title each of the last four seasons. Creyton Cooper had seven carries for 76 yards and two touchdowns, and Rashid Shaheed caught seven passes for 90 yards. Cooper opened the scoring with a 51-yard touchdown run. His 2-yard TD, on a direct snap, came with 7:22 remaining and PAT holder Mackenzie Morgan converted a two-point conversion to pull within 24-18. - AP College Football

  Davis Alexander threw three touchdown passes and Idaho State turned the ball over five times as Portland State rolled to a 31-10 Big Sky Conference win on Saturday. Alexander hit Nate Bennett with a 44-yard touchdown pass on the Vikings' first possession and Malik Walker punched in from the 5 on their second to spark a 17-0 first-quarter lead. Alexander then hit Beau Kelly with a pair of touchdown passes to push the lead to 31-7 in the third quarter. Hunter Hays was 15 of 26 for 140 yards and hit Jared Scott with a 12-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, but was picked off twice. The Bengals (1-5, 1-3) managed just 89 yards on the ground.   Beau Kelly set up the game-winning touchdown with a 30-yard punt return, and Davis Alexander cashed in with a 10-yard run to the end zone early in the fourth quarter as the Vikings earned their first Big Sky Conference win of the season, knocking off Southern Utah 20-13 on Saturday night. Noah Alejado put the Thunderbirds on top, 13-10 early in the third quarter with his second field goal of the game, this one from 29 yards out, but Gianni Smith converted a 28-yard kick to tie the game at 13-13 with 1:09 left in the quarter.

Alexander was 18-of-23 passing for 151 yards, but was picked off once. He carried eight times for 17 yards and a touchdown. Kelly caught seven passes for 59 yards. Jalynnee McGee carried seven times for 78 yards, and Malik Walker had 17 carries for 71 yards and a touchdown for Portland State (2-3, 1-1). Justin Miller was 15 of 23 for 179 yards passing to lead Southern Utah (1-4, 0-2), but the T-Birds managed just 88 yards on the ground on 31 carries.   Davis Alexander threw a pair of touchdown passes as Portland State knocked off Division II Western Oregon 21-7 on Saturday. Alexander engineered a nine-play, 90-yard drive in the first quarter, hitting Beau Kelly from nine-yards out for the game's first score. The pair combined on the Vikings' third touchdown, an 18-yard strike to cap a 12-play, 65-yard drive to take a 21-0 lead. Alexander was 23 of 37 for 295 yards, the two touchdowns and an interception to give the Vikings their first win in three starts. Malik Walker carried 18 times for 89 yards and scored a third-quarter touchdown on a 1-yard run.   Davis Alexander threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score and Sirgeo Hoffman added two touchdown runs to power Portland State to a 52-31 victory over Southern Utah on Saturday. The Vikings (3-3, 1-1 Big Sky Conference) started fast and never looked back against the Thunderbirds (1-5, 0-2). Portland State used Cody Williams' 37-yard field goal and Hoffman's 2-yard TD run to take a 10-0 lead after one quarter. Following Hoffman's score, Southern Utah drove 66 yards in 15 plays with Chris Helbig passing to Lance Lawson for a 5-yard score to get the Thunderbirds within 10-7 just 17 seconds into the second quarter.

Portland State then scored 28 straight points to lead 38-10 at the half. Alexander's 3-yard TD run started the second-quarter scoring burst. He added a 16-yard TD pass to Beau Kelly before Emmanuel Daigbe capped an eight-play, 70-yard drive with an 11-yard TD run to put the Vikings up 31-7 with 47 seconds left in the half. Anthony Adams then picked off Helbig on the Thunderbirds' first play from scrimmage and two plays later Alexander connected with Davis Koetter for a 46-yard TD and a 38-7 lead. Alexander finished 18-of-30 passing for 234 yards and he rushed for 80 yards on just seven carries. Hoffman ran for 81 yards on 24 carries. Koetter hauled in five passes for 108 yards. Helbig completed 31 of 41 passes for 302 yards and three TDs with one interception. Lawson had eight catches for 100 yards and a score.   Davis Alexander threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns as Portland State gave up one touchdown before thrashing Division II Simon Fraser 70-7 on Saturday afternoon. Mataio Talalemotu caught six passes for 132 yards and a score and Davis Koetter grabbed four for 107 yards and two touchdowns. The Vikings amassed 646 yards while limiting Simon Fraser to just 113 total yards. The Clan had 178 yards passing but was held to a minus 65 yards rushing.

Simon Fraser struck first when Justin Seiber nailed John Rysen on a 60-yard scoring strike and a 7-0 lead. Portland State responded quickly and often taking a 21-7 lead into the break as Simon Fraser lost its 10th straight game, after opening the 2018 season with a 54-7 victory over Willamette before dropping the rest that season. Seiber finished with 157 yards passing. The Vikings, who lost to Arkansas 20-13 last week, will face No. 24 Boise State next Saturday. - AP College Football
