*ArDarius Washington, Texas Christian, Player News

Ar'Darius Washington has never had ideal size at 5-foot-8, 178 pounds, but that didn't stop him from becoming a playmaker in TCU's secondary. Most expected that NFL teams would relish his elite-level instincts, too, with a few mock drafts projecting him as a third-round talent. However, Washington ranked among the biggest surprises to go undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. He never heard his named called this weekend. That reality has forced Washington to go the undrafted free-agent route. Washington reached a deal with the Baltimore Ravens, according to TCU football's Twitter account. The news was announced after the draft concluded Saturday. - Fort Worth Star

TCU coach Gary Patterson feels NFL teams are asking the same questions he did when it comes to Ar'Darius Washington. Washington checked in at just 5-foot-8, 178 pounds at TCU's pro day on Friday, not the ideal size for today's NFL safety. "He wasn't as big as I wanted him to be. He wasn't as fast as I wanted him to be. All the above," Patterson said. "But at the end of the day, he's a guy who has a lot of passion for the game and he makes a lot of plays." In 2020, Washington started all 10 games and finished with 37 tackles, including one tackle for loss and five pass breakups. He earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors. At the pro day, Washington reportedly ran a 40-yard dash in the 4.61-second to 4.63-second range. He also had a 37 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10 feet, 7 inch broad jump. "I felt decent," Washington said afterward. "Obviously there were a lot of things I could've done better, definitely from a technique standpoint. I felt overall I did pretty good." - Fort Worth Star

TCU's Ar'Darius Washington is headed to the NFL Draft, forgoing two years of eligibility. Washington made the announcement on social media, thanking God, his mom and siblings and his teammates and coaches at TCU. The biggest knock on Washington is expected to be his size. At 5-foot-8, 178 pounds, he does not have the ideal height to play at the next level. But he's produced as TCU's starting weak safety the past two seasons. Washington had 37 tackles this season, including one tackle for loss, and five pass breakups. The 37 tackles were the seventh-most on the team. - Fort Worth Star

2019 BIG 12 DEFENSIVE FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Ar'Darius Washington, TCU, DB, Shreveport, La.,...Washington is the third Horned Frog to be Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in TCU's eight seasons in the conference. The most recent honoree was Blacklock in 2017. Washington tops all freshmen nationally with five interceptions, the most by a rookie in Gary Patterson's 19 seasons as TCU's head coach. The five picks are also the most by a Horned Frog since Chris Hackett had seven in 2014. Washington, from Shreveport, La., placed third on TCU with 46 tackles. - TCU Football
