Linebacker T.D. Roof will miss the 2022 OU football season after suffering a biceps injury that will require surgery, head coach Brent Venables said Tuesday. Roof, the son of defensive coordinator Ted Roof, transferred from Appalachian State after his fa ther joined Venables' staff in the offseason. Roof has played in 45 career games during his career at Appalachian State, Indiana and Georgia Tech.Venables said it hasn't been decided whether or not Roof would pursue a medical redshirt to play next season. "We'll look at what all the options are," Venables said. "He's been through a lot, been at multiple schools and nothing's been easy for him. We'll see. We'll give him all kinds of opportunity based on where his heart is and after cooler heads so metimes prevail. We'll give him another day or two to figure all that out." While Roof was unlikely to be a starter, he was expected to be in the mix for playing time and likely contribute on special teams also. Venables said Roof's injury is the only si gnificant one so far in camp. - Daily Oklahoman
