Ward ranked second in the MAC in all-purpose yards per game (134.0), third in rushing touchdowns (15), and fourth in rushing average (105.6). Ward is the only one of the eight to earn all-conference honors previously. He was an All-MAC Second Team pick in 2017. - Central Michigan Football

  NOV 18 MAC WEST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Central Michigan RB Jonathan Ward,...Central Michigan senior running back Jonathan Ward (Kankakee, Ill.) had 135 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns in a 45-44 come-from-behind victory at Ball State on Nov. 16. Ward ran for 105 yards on 24 carries and caught four receptions for 30 yards. He had a key reception on the game-winning drive, converting a 3rd-and-7 with an 18-yard catch-and-run. The four touchdowns marked a career-high for Ward. - Mid-American Conference Football

  Jonathan Ward rushed for 105 yards and four touchdowns, Tommy Lazaro ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns, the second coming from the 2-yard line with 61 seconds left in the game, and Central Michigan overcame a big deficit and beat Ball State 45-44 on Saturday. The Chippewas (7-4, 5-2 Mid-American Conference) trailed 27-11 at halftime and 41-31 heading into the final quarter. Central Michigan led 3-0 early and then didn't lead again until its final drive.

Ward ran for his first TD in the second quarter from 1 yard out and then added scoring runs of 6, 9 and 1 yard in the third quarter to get the Chippewas within 10 points. Quinten Dormady completed 27 of 38 passes for 356 yards and one interception for the Chippewas. Tyrone Scott had four catches for 95 yards. Drew Plitt finished 14-of-25 passing for 268 yards with three TDs and a pick for the Cardinals (4-6, 3-3). Justin Hall had four catches for 95 yards and two scores. Riley Miller caught the other scoring pass for Ball State. Walter Fletcher led the Cardinals' ground attack with 115 yards on 15 carries. Ward had 138 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, an average of 6.9 yards per carry. He also caught three receptions for 11 yards.   Jonathan Ward ran for three touchdowns as Central Michigan rolled to a 38-20 win over Bowling Green on Saturday. Ward had 130 yards on 21 carries for the Chippewas (5-3, 3-1 Mid-American Conference) who have won three straight. Quinten Dormady threw for 295 yards and a score. Dormady capped the first drive of the game with a 24-yard touchdown throw to JaCorey Sullivan for an early Central Michigan lead. The Chippewas' second drive ended with the goal line in sight as Tommy Lazzaro fumbled at the 1 and Bowling Green's Caleb Biggers recovered and returned the ball 100 yards for a touchdown, evening the score with 1:30 left in the first quarter. Ward had two short touchdown runs in the second quarter, giving Central Michigan a 21-7 advantage at halftime and the Chippewas led by at least a touchdown the rest of the way.   OCT 7/WEEK 6 MAC West Division Co-Offensive Player of the Week: Central Michigan RB Jonathan Ward,...Central Michigan senior running back Jonathan Ward had 205 all-purpose yards in a 42-16 win over Eastern Michigan. Ward had 132 yards rushing on 12 carries, an average of 11.0 ypc, and scored a pair of touchdowns, including a three-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a 86-yard score in the third quarter. The 86-yard touchdown is the longest by a MAC player this year and the seventh-longest in FBS play.
