Joshua Stakely scored on a 5-yard run in overtime and Georgetown rallied to knock off Delaware State 20-14 in nonconference play on Saturday. Stakely accounted for all 25 yards of the Hoyas' OT drive, carrying four times. Georgetown had a chance to win its season opener in regulation, but Conor Hunt's 35-yard field-goal attempt sailed left with 5:26 remaining. Stakely was held to 18 yards rushing in regulation play.

The Hornets (1-1) jumped out to a 14-0 lead. Sy'Veon Wilkerson scored untouched on an 11-yard run on the first play of the second quarter to open the scoring. Tylik Bethea connected with Jerrish Halsey for a 14-yard score on Delaware State's next drive before being shut out the rest of the way. Georgetown didn't score until 4 seconds before halftime when Joseph Brunell hit Ser Portobanco for a 17-yard TD, making it 14-7. Brunell threw a 36-yard scoring strike to Camero Crayton with 9:36 left in the third quarter to knot the score at 14. Delaware State had the ball first in OT, but Joseph Delgado's 37-yard field-goal try was blocked. - Georgetown/AP College Football

Herman Moultrie III ran for two touchdowns and Georgetown drove 90 yards for a key fourth-quarter touchdown, defeating Columbia 24-10 on Saturday. The Hoyas (3-1) led 17-7 through three quarters and held Columbia (1-1) to three points on two red zone possessions early in the fourth period. With the score 17-10, linebacker Justin Fonteneaux intercepted Lions quarterback Josh Bean and the Hoyas took possession at their own 10-yard line. Thirteen plays and 7:39 later quarterback Joseph Brunell scored on a 7-yard run for a 24-10 lead. Columbia did not gain a first down on its final possession.

Neither team managed as much as 250 yards on offense. Georgetown had more punting yards (266) than total offense (231). Columbia, with 224 yards offense, had five turnovers, losing two fumbles and three interceptions. The game was billed as the fifth annual Lou Little Cup.   Joseph Brunell threw two touchdown passes in a 35-point second quarter and Georgetown blanked Division III Catholic University 69-0 Saturday, the Hoyas' first shutout in 13 years. The Hoyas (2-1) led 53-0 at halftime and went over the 60-point mark for the first time since defeating Roanoke 66-0 in 1940. The defense held the Cardinals (0-2) to 72 yards total offense, including minus-8 on the ground, while the Georgetown offense piled up 567 yards. The Hoyas' previous shutout came over Stony Brook, 7-0, in 2006.

Jackson Saffold, Max Edwards and Joshua Tomas scored two touchdowns each, including Tomas' 66-yard punt return, the Hoyas' first punt return for a score since 2012. Joshua Stakely rushed for 98 yards on eight carries, including a 50-yard score. Gunther Johnson came in for Brunell, son of former NFL quarterback Mark Brunell, and threw a 76-yard TD pass to Edwards. The meeting was the first for the programs in 26 years. - AP College Football
